Unfortunately, it looks as if my choice may be made for me. I was preferring the Archimede model, but upon attempting to order one, I got an E-mail back from Archimede stating that they had closed their US website because they were no longer accepting payment in US Dollars. I don't have an international account, and after the duties and exchange fees it just wouldn't make any sense for me to buy one in Euros. That's really too bad, because as far as I know, there are not currently any US dealers selling Archimede.
About the Aristo: the model that looks the most like the Archimede that I wanted was found on Gnomon.com (3H34) -- it's stainless steel, not titanium; I wanted the stainless steel. However, I have some reservations: how reputable is Gnomon? I Googled this model and, unlike virtually every other model of Aristo that I considered, I was unable to find a record of it anywhere except on the Gnomon site. That seems odd, especially for such a basic watch. Also, the XL flieger crown appears to be a bit unwieldy and much larger than that which I have seen on other models. I like the diamond-shaped crown on the Archimede, but this may be a bit much. I haven't worn a watch in a number of years and thus am a bit green in these matters, but wouldn't such a large crown be uncomfortable? Or not? Would this deter any of you from owning it?
