I learned quite a bit today,sometimes you have to take the good with the bad experience-and not let the bad ones ruin your day. Yes,it was fun and seeing all those watches, was like being a kid in toy store. Choosing to find the right one however, is like buying a car. The process is daunting, the decision making process is a chore and once you bought the watch the depreciation sets in after a year or so. I guess we do it because: A) Watches are cheaper to collect than cars. B) One watch is never enough. C) Men tend to compete with fellow men to see who has the better watch. My family background. Paternal Grandfather was a watchmaker in Hong Kong, my dad's late uncle in Hong Kong built watch cases for a living,my dad's older brother collects watches,my dad owns several watches, mom has a Cartier and I'll wear quality timepieces that are either German or Swiss Made below $5,000 and I haven't bought a single quartz watch,since I received a 1977 Digital Pulsar watch in grade 2.
