Hi Ken, The Binnacle was my intro into auto divers. I say go for it. One of the best bangs-for-the-buck going, IMO. The specs and build quality far surpasses the pricepoint. It's still using an ETA 2824-2 mov't, correct? Highlights. The dial and broadsword hands are a great combo. Legibility is good. +11 seconds out of the box and it's still that way today. Sapphire crystal. The weight of the watch is significant for a 39mm piece and it wears well. The bracelet is a HUGE plus for this watch. Very solid with plenty of adjustments. Screwed links instead of push pins is a nice detail. It's a tough watch with little to no rattle and slop. Cons: The lume is average to a little below average, IMO. Also, I don't like the cream colored dial, but that is a personal preference. I wish the bracelet was uniform in it's finish. The center links are polished. If you wear it often enough, the paint on the bezel markings will start to wear. I'm actually thinking about sending mine out to have some custom work done (case and bracelet refinishing and a lume job). If I can find a pic, I'll try to post it for you. --Steve Last edited on Wed Apr 2nd, 2008 11:21 am by steve6387 |
