Ok, I'm pulling the trigger on a Marathon SAR. I missed it once I don't want to wait.  I also want the bracelet but I'm told the Maple Leaf bracelet is discontinued and only the US bracelet is available.  I suppose the bracelet is the important part but as a Crazy Canuck I really wanted that Maple Leaf buckle.  Has anyone heard similar or am I worrying for nothing.  Can I still get this buckle?

Well it's on the way...and I got the bracelet to go with it. So if anyone south of the 49th want's a DOD buckle to trade for a Maple Leaf, just let me know. I'm told the discontinuation is probably temporary so original buckles should be available eventually.

Cheers all!

Well, no joy at Broadarrow. Just a heads up to everyone else who may be interested. It seems they really are discontinued. Bob at Broadarrow says he's pushing Marathon to start up again.

Look for a PM Anonimo;)

Thanks to Hucky for the link but that one was gone before I got to it. Who knew a Maple Leaf would be so hard to get:?.  Thanks to anyone else who comes across one and mentions it.  You guys are great!

A good place to check would be the sales(px) forum over at MWR. I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple there recently.

UPDATE:  I got my Maple Leaf buckle!!!  Thanks guys for recommending MWR as a good place to look.  TNRonin had a buckle and we swapped straight across.  He was a good guy and patient with my miscommunication skills:D.    Once again you 3T WIS folks have proven what a great community we've got here.

Thanks again!

You know Murphy, I'm quickly discovering how invigorating the 'hunt' can be.  I've started looking at my collection in a new light asking each piece "ok which of you guys needs a new strap"

To be quite honest, relatively boring. No one has shot at me or tried to blow me up yet while out on the road. We did get rocketed last week(CNN reported it was mortars) and there is the occasional stray rounds coming into our compound at night. I've been told it's not a matter of if but when. I guess I better be careful what I wish for.

I make a run into Baghdad every morning, secure a particular facility and then after close of business for the day, I make the run back to Victory Base Camp. All in all a simple and straight forward day, 5 days a week.

Ah yes,  as I recall it was days of boredom interrupted by moments of stark terror...thank you for what you do!
