Its been a while so I'll post up one of the nagging questions which rattles around my skull and see what my 3T kin have to say... The Rolex Milgauss is haunting my dreams. I've been obessessing over it since Summer and am considering selling my son to finance the purchase of one. Unfortunately this practice is frowned upon so I'll keep dreaming for the time being. Recently I saw Antiquorum will be holding an auction of historic Rolex watches and they will be offering a Milgauss. Here's the question: Given the choice, and with unlimited funds which watch would you rather add to your collection and why? 1) Rolex Milgauss Ref 6541- Rolex Oyster- Perpetual “ Milgauss” Ref 6541. Made in 1958. Antimagnetic, water-resistant, center- seconds, self-winding, stainless steel gentleman’s wristwatch “lightning flash” seconds hand and “honeycomb” dial. Estimate: $ 50,000 – $ 70,000 ![]() Click HERE for a hi-res version of this watch. OR 2) The thoroughly modern 50th anniversary edition with the green sapphire cyrstal. ![]() Thanks for taking a look and sharing your thoughts. Feel free to use the poll at the top of the thread!

Mark... I prefer #1 the historic version - mainly because of the bezel and dial detail. But your poll ended before it started? :?

I love the new one. The older one is okay, but orange with the green crystal is tops!

Having owned two older Rolex watches at one time, I don't think they compare to today's models. At least not the bracelets. I like #2 all the way. It looks more Packer Country too! :D

I had to pick the 50th Aniiversary model too. The green sapphire is so cool. I wonder what one of these will fetch at auction 50 years from now??
