I was looking at a non-swiss Zeno diver on ebay.  I seem to recall reading a thread from an ebay seller about Zenos not all being made in Switzerland. Does anyone have any experience with these?  I asked seller if they were Swiss and got one word answer NO . Was hoping for a bit more elaboration.  Borrowed the pic from seller lalilu001232.

Hey Romano, I had one of those. I purchased it from the German seller off of the Bay. Like a lot of watches these days I believe that one is made in China. Don't let that discourage you though. It's a good watch, with a rugged build quality. Nice dial and hands. The lume was weak to average. It had a nice quality bracelet. The bezel clicks were nice and firm. The chrono function worked perfectly every time. Overall I liked the watch and felt it was a good buy for the money.

I hope this helps. :D

yeah it does, thanks. Some of these are nice looking for the price.  Seller has a mix of Zeno's marked as Swiss others with no origin so it isn't like he is trying to pass off fakes.  Calls the movement in this one a Kaliber FS 00 quartz.

just beware its "Zeno" not "Zeno Watch Basel"; kind of banking on name recognition.

What is the story on the Zeno watch Basel vs Zeno . I read a post here where someone explained that the owner had something like 2000 varieties of watch from different factories in both Switzerland and Asia.  He used the brands interchangeably at times almost by whim.  I would think that once you establish brand recognition you stick to it like white on rice.  Anything else just causes confusion . IW you are an authorized dealer what's the story? If I where a dealer I would not want the manufacturer doing anything that could cloud the consumer's judgement.

I bought a Zeno diver from that eBayer. No problems; smooth transaction. Nice watch.  But as Marc said, it's a Zeno and not a Zeno-Watch Basel. My understanding is that the "Zeno" watches are the "discount" cousins of the ZBW watches.

You can buy them direct from Zeno-Watch-Basel ...PD...they advertise "Swiss Made" mechanical but when I opened mine up to see the movement it said clearly inside the caseback "Made In Japan"!yahoo.gif
