Two weeks since a new watch arrived here, and I am going through withdrawals.:D

So I ordered an Alpha pilot that I found last week, good thing my course is running for the semester for extra cash!  I have set my sights a little lower this year, I am supposed to be under a new policy, one comes in, one goes out (which is why I sold my Corsair   It wasn't getting any wrist time since the Globemaster but I hated to sell it.)

Anyway, I figure a lot of my purchases this year will be more "affordable" watches and watch tools.  The Alpha fits nicely in that category for 75 bucks.  I coudn't resist the carbon fiber 9 eater dial, Ti case and hand wind display back movement!

Cheers,
Griff

Nice grab. Surprises me how nice a watch they really make for the money and that looks good. ;)

So far I am being good. Just 2 watches for the month though some may have thought 4. 2 were from back in the Fall before my Foggy episode. LOL :D

Is that a exhibition case back? If so would love to see how well they make the movement look.

Hey Griff, nice new Alpha. Those Alpha's are great watches for the price. I had a couple of Alpha's years ago but sold them off as my collection evolved. Alpha offers a decent watch for an increadibly low price, (amazing what they can crank out in China).

I know what you mean on the dry spell. My last watches were the Doxa 5000T just before X-Mas and the Orsa Monstrum my wife gave me for X-Mas, nothing since then. I had stashed some $$$ for the purchase of the upcoming Ocean7 LM-6C (dive chrono). But.......... yesterday I located and purchased something new! Something I have always liked. A cool design , great Swiss auto movement, excellent build quality, rich company heritage and a brand I don't yet have in my collection. And yes, it is a dive watch! It should be arriving early next week. Of coarse I will keep you guys posted.

This should give me my fix until the Ocean7 LM-7 is ready. :D

Nice Alpha !!!

I have had 4 but down to only 2 now (after the Great Chrono Sell Off) which I should sell as I dont wear them often but just really like them. ( A PO and a GMT)

My resolution of no more new watches after the VX-200 (and the entire last year)
lasted exactly 22 days until something I had wanted for a while showed up on a Sales Foum.  Wonder what DEMO used the money for? :D  We need pics!!!

My wife has commented more than once that I need an "Intervention" :D  Hell, I would buy a watch while waiting for another!

My sights have gone from $500 watches to far less, actually I anticipate buying more tools and parts this year than watches.  I just couldn't resist that Alpha!  It does have an exhibition case back and the Ti case is that nice raw dark gray.  All in all it looks like it is worth far more than 75 bucks.  This will be my 4th Alpha, joining my Newman chrono (still running COSC more than a year after I got it hand6.gif), PO (went through 3 of them, finally gave up and changed the movement in one to a Miyota, runs great) and my dead GMT (crown came off in my hand...).

Cheers,
Griff
