In the last friday pic posting, I was asked by Hucky if I have had polished the bezel of my EMV. Well I did not, as I bought this watch like that second hand. However, now I ask myself, if it came like that from Enzo? The seller told me that is is one of 65 pieces made, called the Mark V version. Does anybody else have an Enzo with a polished bezel? I did surf around but so far I haven't seen any other on the net. Have a look at my picture:

Getting curious now, if there are more around like this :D

all the best

Jan

JHM:

It looks fine with the high polished bezel.  Very much like the high polished early series of Panerai submersibles before they switched to brushed finished bezels.

Would be best to e-mail the image Enzo himself enzo@enzomechana.com and ask him.

Have a look at Enzo's "Enzo Mechana" photo album at:
http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?folder_id=1720823

I don't see any high polished bezel versions of any version EM watch there.

My guess would be that a person who had it before you scuffed or scratched the brushed finish on the bezel and decided to "fix it" by polishing which only made matters worse so then decided to rectify the situation by polishing out the entire bezel and making a story to fit that it came that way from Enzo.

As for the V in EMV meaning Mark V and only 65 pieces made with the red bordered black face -- again best to Enzo --- never heard that one before, could be true.

I would think that Enzo would be able to supply you with a spare brushed bezel or alternatively refinish the one you have if you would rather have the brushed style.

Regards,

Encap

Hi Guys,

thanks for the answers hand6.gif! Seems like that I really have a one of a kind version. I really like that polished look on it, as well. Since I also have another oranged dial EMV with a brushed bezel, I will keep it polished for sure.

Actually, the seller did not state that it came polished from Enzo, I just anticipated that. Probably he was refering to the dial, when saying that it was limited to 65 watches. On the contrary, he has been a pleasure to deal with and I got it for a decent price. The watch itself has been well used in its short live, as the previous owner is a diver and it has quite a lot of marks, already. It just adds some spirit to it IMHO ;)

all the best

Jan

Good decision-nice watch!

The polished bezel looks great & maintaining is easy/simple to do compared to the brushed bezel finish.

A few minutes of polishing with a soft cloth charged with some old fashioned red jeweler's rouge will keep it perfectly polished & will not scratch the crystal.

Encap

@ Encap: Thank you for the hint! Sounds good; originally I intended to order some of these "Cape Cod cloths" but they are ridiculously expensive in Germany, so this might be an economical alternative.

all the best

Well, my EMV isn't polished but it has a different dial.  I had Enzo put in the dial from an EM001.  It looks really good.  Once the batteries charge for my camera I will post some pics.
