Friends, I strapped on my Accutron VX-200 this morning, you all know the watch. I brought it in and set it to the 3T clock just to check on its accuracy. I checked after 2 hours and the Accutron was already 15 seconds fast. Applying some grade school math, 15 seconds in two hours translates into three minutes fast over a day. One thing I noticed this morning, I wound this quite a bit and when I screwed in the crown the watch continued to click as if it was still winding...I hadn't heard this sound before. My questions are: 1. If I over-wound the watch will it run fast? 2. If I over-wound the watch would that explain the clicking when I screwed in the crown? 3. Reset it and check it again. They may run fast out of the box but that is to fast. I dont think the winding has anything to do with it. |

A completely unwound 200 should take 15-20 winds to get it running well enough to wear. If you wound it way more than that and got a clicking sound screwing the crown back in, I'd pull the crown out all the way and push it back in. Maybe, try it a few times. Or, just let it run down a bit and then try again. :D |

I'm sure the Accutron has a "clutch" on it to prevent over winding...that said, give it a few weeks to settle down. If you still have a problem then...it's a simple adjustment. |

I've read about some bad ones recently, mainly stopping issues. I think I've read about a rash of problems because they've sold so many lately. I hope your problems resolved. Mine's about 12 sec a day fast and could be tweaked a little, so far so good..do we have a crossing fingers emoticon?:) |

An average defect rate for a product is 5%. Some will be much less and some can be as high as 10%. So, let's say Poop sold 300 model VX-200 watches. Fifteen of them (on average) will have some sort of problem. |
