I didn't know if this was the right place to post this or not but...

I wanted to re-lume a couple of my old watches and was looking for some help getting pointed in the right direction. I had a few questions:

1.) What tools will I need and where can I order them?

2.) Any books that I can buy to outline the basics?

3.) Where can I source watch parts (ie. hands etc. - I have a couple places to order the lume form... but am always open to suggestions)

4.) Anybody here done this themselves before? (I assume the guys like berg that make there own watches have some experience with it.)

One of the watches is not that expensive, and will be my trial run. I have taken my watches apart (somewhat) in the past, and am fairly mechanically inclined. The guys that are modding watches as a business must be ordering there parts form someone, and they had to start somewhere, so I figured I would give it a shot.

Thanks in advance!

There's a lot of good info over at Timezone on do-it-yourself stuff. I don't know if their's anything on reluming, but their might be. It wouldn't hurt to look. There's a lot of people on e bay that sell tools, lume, aftermarket parts, literature on watch repair, etc. etc. Just do a search for watchmaker tools, books and parts. Also, check the other watch forums you frequent. There's bound to be someone with some info that can help. You obviously posted here, have you checked over at TheWatchBoard? You sound like this is something you really want to try. Keep searching for what you need. Their are plenty of resources in the WIS community. You'll eventually find what you need.
