My mother is coming to visit me this weekend and she stumbled across my grandfather's old watch recently. This thing has literally been sitting in a box in a closet since 1979. She is going to give it to me. smile8.gif She said he had it from at least the early 1960s and possibly even the 1950s. When she picked it up, it started running, so I guess it must be an automatic? Anyway, will a good local watch person be able to service and lube this beast and get it running well again or is 30 years too long to sit? Thanks!!
Rick
I am still waiting to get this watch back from a local watchmaker, but it's almost done. He was really far behind and I told him it wasn't a rush to get this back to me right away. Anyway, my mother found an old photo from the early 1960s of my gradfather being presented with this watch at his retirement party. How cool is that? I will soon be able to wear this watch which has not been used at all since 1979 as well as have a photo of it being presented to my grandfather.
