I don't post here much, but I have been in contact with the folks at Zinex about this watch and it seems like a real winner. From what it has been described to me, the bezel seems like it will be a tank, and it will feature C3 lume with 500m water resistance. I plan to pre-order one soon. Just my option.

From the information on Zinex Website the chronogrpah is powered by
the Swiss Made Valjoux 7750.

Now that is a reasonable price for a VAL 7750 powered piece...sounds more reasonable than the $1200 to $1500 other Start-ups want for an ETA 2824-2 or SW200 powered watch.

Sharpened the pic a bit and I think I do like the dial and hand look of this one. Got word back from them. The Proto has the date at 3 the final will have it between the 4 and 5. I would go with rubber over the SS bracelet though. Sitting on the fence right now. Just not sure about pulling the trigger yet. But they give a 7 day grace period to examine the watch which is a plus. I'll mull it over during lunch today I think. ;)

I ordered the steel bracelet, they told me the metal bracelet was very limited so, did not want to miss out like i did on OE........., now I am having second thought about the dial and hands...I kind of like the stick hand on the black dial........man that OE watch case looks awsome,.......the dial is not what I thought it would be, eitherway I missed out, but I think this may do till another ONE COMES OUT from K.....

I actually like it a lot... would rather it have crown guards though... and as far as the bracelet...  I would wear it 90% of the time on rubber or some type of strap, so the extra $$ for the bracelet is not really worth it for me.

I do however like the Korsbek more... but then again.. one with Plonguer hands the other with stick hands... seems like enough difference to own both.

I am pretty close especially at the price on rubber... with Midnight Blue and Plonguer hands with aged lume yet still C3 intensity...  I really like it...  just worried a little about the quality..

I can't decide if I like it or not. Alot of pros, some cons. I like the robust size and I really like the dial layout, I like the vintage color accents of the dial. Interesting bezel, I just wish they had put a lume pip in the triangle at 12:00.
A "professional" diver without a lume marker on the bezel at 12:00 mistake.gif

Also I wish the case had crown guards. That crown looks like it sticks out in the open pretty far and with a case of that weight and size that crown looks like it is susceptible to a good whack if not carefull.

I'd really like to see a side view of this beast.

I managed to aquire this pic. Note this is a model with a prototype dial. Some finishing touches I would guess will be made as with any new watch in the fianl stages pre-release. The setup I'm getting is like this but on rubber with the blue dial and plongers. Date will be at the mis 4 to 5 area. The other proto we have seen shows it at 3.

Yea I saw that. I had almost grabed one of those with the ss bracelet when they were on SAH.

For the price it better be twice as good.  But I do wonder if the case was made in the same hose or bought off the same shelf one.

May have to look into that more. To bad TT is in Basel I'd shoot a query to see if he could recall who built that Corvette.

Yea I should have snagged one at $199 too. But curiosity got the better of me so I just ordered a Corvette. I figure if I don't want to keep it I know a Corvette nut that would love it. LOL :D

I saw a post on WYS forum they had purchased 100 cases of an existing divewatch from a car company or something, so this is probably it, they share the same case, but the dial hands and backcase is all changed.....I still love the ZINEX dial with the vintage look......pre-order on the way......

I decided to Email them and ask a few question about my pre-order, here is what ZINEX rep told me......here is the actual Email.....

From: ZINEX WATCH
Date: 4/3/2008 9:28:48 PM
To: Steve.......
Subject: Re: My pre-order Nitrox

Hi Steve....thanks for your Email......

The Nitrox shares the same case with a couple of other brands I belive, we had an oppourtunity to purchase 100 of these last year from a distributor, we felt the watch had the charecteristic of a classic design in particular the bezel, this is a high quality machined 316 case that is well made, with double O'ring heavy internal wall thickness and great feel once it is on the wrist. I am a hardcore diver myself and I can see there are few things that this case is lacking such as a crown guard, perhaps a lum point on the bezel, but overall we think it is still a very nice diver. We had to completley take it a part, use the main body and steel housing that holds the movement, creat a brand new mold for the stainless steel back case with our specification, creat a new set of mold for the hour, minute and second hand due to specific dial size, new dial design ( ZINEX exclusive ), we also had to source a heavier higher quality with brush finish SS screw linked bracelet for this case to match the estatic appearance of the case. So a significant amount of work and funds has gone into developing the Nitrox and we are very happy with the final result. This is why we could have pictures of the watch already available since we had the case. Please rest assure when it is completed it will be as attractive as the pictures you have seen so far, it will be a substantial piece we assure you. If for any reason you feel it's not what you wanted, please rest assure you can return it for a full refund according to our policy. We want to make sure you love your Nitrox.......

Kind Regards,

Joe.....

Yaaaappp, at somepoint you could have bought one with that funky plastic dial couple of years back, but after what the Zinex guys done to everything else in it now its around $725.00.......I guess you can't even get the ETA movement for less than a couple of bills now......I ordered one with SS bracelet...it looks cool to me anyway.....

Yea both the old SAH and ShopNBC had dropped the prices to crazy low prices in a clearance sale. There are still a few left but not at the super low price anymore. But still far below list price.
