I'm hunting for a new watch. I bought that Accutron astronaut and have never worn it. Seems a shame really. looks great on the mantel thoughhand6.gif

need a diver, at least 42mm, auto or quartz, for poser work when on business. price can be up to 1500.00 anymore and I'm not in my watch fund. swiss or german. thoughts?

A few good solid divers in that range that I like. ;)

Zeno airplane Diver, check Island Watch and if ya find one you like ask IW (Marc) for a 3T deal.

Oris TT1 300M diver is not bad at all. Can be found for under $1000 if you look hard enough.

Tissot SeaStar 1000 divers are great and well below $1000 still. Very under rated watches.

Enzo divers can still be found below $1000 often. I'd match against 90% of the $2000 divers out there easy. :)

With that budget you have numerous possibilities. What do you mean buy "poseur" work?

What kind of bait does one use when hunting for a watch? subtlelaugh.gif

Some dive watch possibilities:

- Enzo (pre-owned)
- Ocean7 G-2, LM-3 or LM-6
- Triton
- Oris TT1
- Doxa 750T or 1000T Sharkhunter (pre-owned)
- Marathon SAR line of watches (auto & quartz)
- Sector 600 dive chrono (quartz)
- Marcello C
- Limes 1 Tausend
- Stowa Seatime ProDiver

Sounds good. I left the suit and tie life behind Dec 1995 and have not really looked back. T-shirt and Jeans is so much better.

Fantastic suggestions already made so I really can't offer up much more...  but I'll be following your progress.  FWIW, I have an Enzo and agree with Skip's comments on the value there.  But, at one point or another I've drooled over all the options mentioned.

Have Fun!

This is probably as good as anything you'd get at twice the price:

I'm betting it sells quickly.

Based on personal experience, I'd recommend either the Marcello C or Debaufre divers. Both have quality that rivals watches costing many times their going price.

Lately, I have been enamored with Fricker-cased divers.  The cases are solid, ETA 2824-2 Movements, solid bracelets........Just really well-made, moderately priced divers.  I recently picked up a Jacques Etoile Atlantis for $1200 and a Kenzo Nautilus SS for a little more than $1500----Both in the second-hand markets, and both in mint condition.  The AlphaTime Diver is also made by Fricker and moderately priced (brand-new).  Some people don't like the looks, but...........

If you keep your eyes open, you can really find them for a moderate price on TZ on WUS sales forums.
