Years ago, when I was young and the Dead Sea was just ill, I seem to remember the Zodiac brand was highly regarded, especially by divers.  I remember they were sold in many dive shops, along with Doxa watches.  These days, it seems as if the Zodiac brand is not as well thought of.  In looking at the offerings on their website, I don't see much to get excited about.

Has the Zodiac line fallen from grace, qualilty-wise?

Thanks.

If you want a solid made quartz watch, you can't go wrong.

They do seem to be repositioning themselves since being bought by Fossil - some of their newer quartz designs are, to me at least, reminiscent of Fossil styling...which I don't generally care for.  That being said, they still have a lot of watches, both mechanical and quartz that I do like alot...I had an am/pm GMT and a desert chrono, both quartz, that were of excellent quality and value...but yes, I would agree that overall they are not aiming for the Doxa crowd anymore...which is cool, as long as they are good at what they do!

Both Zodiacs I have are solid made watches. The Desert Falcon, pictured above, and a V-Wolf have been dead on accurate and heavy duty. You can usually find some really good deals on them all the time. I had a Oceanaire, but sold that to my boss. That watch was a really decent watch as well.
