I'm looking for someone to relume a Fortis B-42, which includes reluming the numbers around the dial (very fine).  Who would be best for this job?

Mark

Personally I like Kent over Jack...  Kent's work is his specialty...  there are others though... Bob Thayer, Ken Setser, Chris Weigand (something like that) that are very good as well..

Jack does good work, but in my experience Kent Parks is the lume KING!  I've had him re-lume two watches and in both cases you could not tell that the watch did not come from the factory with nuclear lume.  I cannot speak highly enough of his work.

Looks like Kent is the man.  He was also the first (and only so far) to reply to my quote request.

Thanks guys for your help!

They both do a good job and the turn around time takes long.

I think that all depends on how busy Kent is.  My last relume was back in my hands in about three weeks, which I consider quite reasonable.

Kent has done three watches for me and I think his work is incredable. You may have to prod him a little to get the work completed, however. This is a picture of the SMP he did the dial and hands on for me.

Wow Edgel, that shows some fine skill with the fine lume on the hands.  Very nicely done.

I think if the work were similar, I'd actually prefer Bob Thayer to do relume work, if the color of lume he has is appropriate for the piece.  The reason?  He has access to a 36hr. NoctiLuma!  Ha!  36 hrs...I'd love to see that in person.

Thanks again everyone.  I have sent my B-42 to Kent, he has been fantastic answering questions and suggesting good options.

Can't wait to get it back... boy10.gif
