Every time I see the watch I get flash backs. I loved the movie Top-Gun and for more than one reason.

When the movie was made i was on board the USS Enterprise CVN-65 (The Big-E) I worked in V1 division and at the time was a E-3 working on the flight deck as part of the safety team. What a experience. And then a few years later I worked private security for Tom Skerritt at his private residence in Seattle. Small world.

But then there is the IWC Top-Gun watch. What a sweety. I would not mind having one some day.

Here is a site to check it out if you would like.

Skip - That is a really good looking watch.  I must say, I'm usually not one for chronos or pilot style watches.  But there is something about the dark face/dials and hands that I find very interesting.  Thanks for the link.

2 side notes:

First, Thanks for your service.  thankyou.gifA family of my own and a little bro who served in the USMC taught me a healthy appreciation for those that serve their country.

Second - I've always been a big fan of Tom Skerritt.  Liked his work ever since he played Dallas in one of the best horror movies ever made.  A true classic.  Anyone want to take a guess?  And no googling then posting the answer.  Skip, I think we should count you out since it's a no-brainer for you.  This would be pre - Top Gun.

Steve I have that other movie your talking about on DVD also. I have Top-Gun on VHS I need to get the DVD version.

Working on the flight deck I was around the real Top-Gun pilots all the time. When I was on it the Big-E was the Flag Ship.
