Curious to know the difference between these two seiko auto's.  Seiko 5 Sports 200m Scuba Diver's SKZ249 and the Seiko "Orange Monster". Thanks, Tim.

Hey -- I just asked that!

The only substantive answer I got was that, apart from the obvious cosmetic differences,  they use different caliber movements (the Seiko 5 movement is a higher grade).

I like that Seiko 5 -- the yellow one.  I'm probably going to get it.

I took the plunge and bought the FrankenMonster for $139.00 which I thought was a good deal...I really didn't study it much since it will be my first seiko..I just figured the price sounded ok.  Thanks for your information on the watch.  I didn't know that it was referred to as the "FrankenMonster" as I was told it was a neo Orange Monster...in any event, I am sure that I will enjoy it.  Thanks, Tim.Thumbsup3.gif

Well, I think that's a pretty darn good price.  But I wouldn't go as far to say the 7S36 is a 'higher grade' than the 7S26.  It basically has an added bridge that adds 2 jewels...that essentially improve nothing (for a really in depth answer...see here).

It is essentially a style difference.  I have had a couple of Monsters before, and had a FrankenTunaMonster (or whatever you want to call it) too.  I think you'll find the lume on the Franken superb.  It was better than the Monster's I've had.

Enjoy!
