Rumor has it that Sellita SA watch movements has gone bancrupt and a possible buyout by Tudor European Division is in the works....I will report to any truth in this matter once I have heard from sources closer to the situation but the rumor mill has started hand6.gif

I thought that Rolex bought them out some time ago to use that movement in thier Tudor brand? ((trying not to look dumbface4.gif)Tudor is owned by Rolex? right?)

Yes, Tudor is owned by Rolex...they did not buy Sellita, they simply had a contract for there movements (gears, etc.) which dried up the Sellita market. If they did go belly up, then Tudor would almost have to take them over to continue production of their finished pieces.

What did they do make the mistake of investing in the US Mortgage market? LOL :D Man this economic mess seems to be rippling out to all kinds of directions and places. :?

LOL :D Same question I was going to ask Skip..how does a company go bankrupt when there is such a high demand for what you produce and buyers clamoring for your product? IMHO, the only posibbility might be taking orders, you are not able to fulfill do to lack of workforce/facilities etc and leaving the customer holding the bag??

I have a question about this. When I was at the jewelers getting some watches sized, I was talking Rolex with the watch maker there. They are an AD for Rolex. He told me they dropped the Tudor line. That they dont make them anymore. Is this true? :?
