Easy it's not a quick set date. You have to roll through all the numbers to get back to 1 or 01. ;)

A watch is a device that measures 24hrs. and then advances the date about 11 degrees.  On a big date the 2 dials are 1 through 3 and the other is 1 through 9.  If you wanted a big date watch to go from 31 to 1 then you have to have an additional complication that counts 31 days and then resets both wheals back to 01.

Ah!  So that would explains the picture I saw of a big-date Bathy's with a "38".

Ty E!....many of the older Big dates go to 38 but as E states the newer ones with the added complication end at 31 and now I know whyhand6.gif
