Hi.  I'm new here.  I followed a few of you folks here from the WatchUseek Invicta forum. I used to hang out there.  Noticed the post about the Trias watches at LongIslandwatches and am curious what you guys think of the Stovard Jurgenson watches he has with the ETA movements.  I've got my eye on the Tank watch with the manual wind eta.

Item:  Stovard Jurgenson Swiss Movement Dress Watch #264-2660-Roman

Thanks in advance for any input

Chuck

I own that watch except mine has arabic numerals instead of the roman ones. I've had it for over a year. It is a super nice dress watch. The back has some engraving on it that really sets it off. I don't know what the movement is, but most every Støvard Jürgenson has either a Swiss or German made movement. The quality of the Støvard Jürgenson watches is exceptional for their price. You won't be disappointed.

Island Watch was out of many models for quite awhile due to some customs snaffus. But, Marc (of Island Watch) recently received a huge shipment so supply is not a problem right now. Marc is very high on the brand.

One thing you might want to do is consider is a different strap than the stock strap. The stock strap is nice, but I put on a larger strap than stock. The model you are considering will actually accept a 21 to 22mm strap. Stock is 20mm. I know this sounds crazy, but I have a 22mm black croc strap on mine. It makes the watch look a bit larger on the wrist.

The watch only needs about 15 to 20 winds to become fully wound. The dial has a nice dimension to it with sort of corrugated texture in the center. The hands do a nice job of glowing in the dark. The case is nicely made and I have yet to put a scratch in mine. Its a great watch for work or something to wear when you go out to dinner. Wrist shot is with new 22mm strap. The back is so shinny I had trouble taking the picture (taken with stock strap). Its not black, but highly polished steel (almost mirror-like).
