Initially, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)
was established on April 4,1949.  The NATO headquarters are
in Brussels,Belgium. The military alliance is a collective system of defence by
membered states agree to mutually defend each other in response to an attack
by an external party (Warsaw Pact).

Mostly I was curious what a strap would have to do with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization - that last post explains it all
