I have been browsing the net for free software to enable me to create some order from the chaos pertaining to my compulsive watch buying disorder........ Can someone point me in the right direction? Maybe there is a very organized member around here who is prepared to share some info? I can obviously draw up my own page, butI'm sure the wheel has been invented a few times over.....;) |

There is a seller on eBay who wrote and sells a program called Treasuresoft. I bought it but, have yet to begin using it. However, it looks like it will work great for anything someone collects. There is room for a picture as well as description and financial information like how much was paid etc. http://cgi.ebay.com/1-SOFTWARE-TO-MANAGE-YOUR-WATCH-COLLECTION_W0QQitemZ200274733034QQihZ010QQcategoryZ64520QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Clyde |

Hey Graham check out this site, the software is not free but I've used it for years. I had my whole vintage and pocket watch collection on it, about 350 pieces, very easy to use, runs great reports, tracks everything even eBay listings of watches you are flipping. Never started to use it for my current watches, your thread put me on the hunt for it and I was able to find it. http://www.watchware.org/ |

I will have to search my old backup CD's and see if I can find the database. It is OK written in Access I believe and can be partially modded by the user. It can display up to 4 images in the window. Not bad for 10 bucks. |

Speaking for myself I only use a wooden watch valet box for my watches that don't have original boxes. Any new watch that has their own boxes,I just keep them in there along with the original sales receipts and hang tags.:D However, it does clutter my desk when I want to look at all of my timepieces, that I have accumulated.;) When said and done everything goes back into their proper boxes and I just store them away. Before the days of having home computer, I would log everything into a Blueline Accountant's Book. As to when each watch was purchased and serviced. Now, that I'm a retailer for a watch store I've just sent whatever needs to be serviced to my workshop and not having to think about it.:) Cheers, Simon |
