I lied! I couldn't wait til after the holiday and was up again til 2:00 am last night and all of today. When I am on a mission, I'm obsessed!

So I have good news and bad. I'll start with the bad. I spoke with my jeweler and she told me that the Rolex DateJust that would fit your needs runs $7000 w/a 10% discount for $6300. An entry level on steel with no date would start at $4000. Sorry. :(

The good news is that I did finally find a watch I think you will like. (minus the diamonds at this price point - my search so far indicates that it's either the movement or diamonds, unless you're willing to up the $. :)) Here's the watch -

http://www.authenticwatches.com/baume-et-mercier-riviera-8783.html

Here's the company -

http://www.baume-and-mercier.com/home/home.aspx?ln=en

Baume Mercier is a brand  highly coveted by many women. I own two myself. This year's ambassadors are Ashton Kutcher and Teri Hatcher. Unlike most, they're donating their royalties to support the fight against cancer, the promotion of childhood education and helping underpriviledged women! cool10.gif

Anyway, if you like this watch, the site says free overnight shipping, but it also says it usually ships in 2-8 weeks, so you if you're interested you may want to call first and confirm. Also this company offers a 3 year warranty, plus an additional extended 3 yr warranty and a lifetime warranty you can purchase.  Also note the link at the bottom on how you can save an additional 5%. They also offer an Extended Holiday Return Policy til Jan 16th, but you have to tell them it's a gift when you place the order and request it. (My uncle owns this site! subtlelaugh.gif j/k!!!! :P )

Now, back to a project I started 3 days ago and then getting ready for Thanksgiving. Then I'll get back to looking for more watches for your lovely wife! And what an amazing wife she must be! hearteyes.gif Of course any suggestions from our 3T family members would be hugely appreciated! ;) :)

Wow alloy I am shocked at your dilligence and pursuit of a watch for my better half!!

I am familiar with the brand as I helped my boss pick out a capeland  for her husband to be as a wedding gift.

Wow tha watch looks awesome....I need to get her to look at it and see what her response would be.

I am at work, trying not to work but this is a pleasant diversion, and will be a big help.

I am surprised that this thread is not getting much feedback from the guys...what is up with that.

Sorry Shady, my budget is a lot less.  Tissot pretty much tops it but my wife has also received from me, 2 seiko 5s, 1 amber chaika, 3 Swatch automatics.  She inheirited the Victory that's my avi and bought one seiko 5 on her own.  She's been know to wear one of my Orients and my Trias as well.  I'd get her that Nomos suggested or a dressy vintage Omega too (I've been toying with that idea)  Oh wait, I'm already getting her an Orient of her own for christmas.  As you can tell there's lots of choices just in my budget range, you must be pulling your hair out with your amount of choices.

That tough on watches huh? Get her a G-Shock then. If she can kill one of them she is not meant to wear watches. LOL :D :P ;)

BTW, stolen pic.

A little OT but authentic watches.com mentioned earlier in this thread is a great company.  I have purchased a few things from them.

Hey there! So what did your beloved spouse say about the Baume Mercier? What did she like/didn't like? How's the search going? :D

I am looking at a couple of online retailers on used Datejust Rolies.

TT with white dial.

She loves the Baumes...but I think she wants the Rolex.

I can trade in a watch to use as a depsoti against the watch.

I will send you the retailers in an IM and maybe you can help me this way.

shady.
