I spent the day installing some nice Chronometer Grade 2824's in these Ronda powered 32 Degree divers so I thought I would share some quick and dirty shots!

here you can see the nice clasp that Invicta forgot to use on their version of this watch!

boring face shot:

There is the Ronda 515 with the plastic movement ring and battery holder:

disassembled now:

New 2824 installed on the dial (hands on card in background)

Better shot of the Omega Seamaster hands:

here are the hands installed:

Back in the case, stem sized, crown installed:

movement and movement ring now that the battery holder arm has been removed:

three of them with the new Mondaine 2824's

sorry light is terrible and I hate to take pictures while I work!

Wow! I would have never thought that could be done ... rebuild a quartz into a nice auto. Is the swap really as straight-forward as you make is seem??? ... It seems like I could actually do it :P . I wonder (out loud) how much rework went into the plastic movement holder to mke things fit nicely?

I think this may interest more than a few folks. I have more than a couple 'lower end' divers that are near and dear to my heart. Would it be that simple to swap in a nice 2824 for the lower grade 21 J Miyota 8215??? Would it be a worthwhile swap in your opinion??

The Miyota is a whole different animal, The Ronda quartz movements though are pretty much a direct swap with a 28xx movement. There may be a slight difference in crown placement If I had a 2892 I would check it and see if it fit better because the crown placement on it is slightly different from the 28xx movements.

In any case it is pretty much a drop in with only a little shaving of the plastic movement ring to be sure the rotor clears and a new set of hands since the quartz hands don't fit the automatic.

This swap might even be possible for the classic luminox with a little tinkering!

That does look very nice, Chris and that's a great picture, but the crystal with its non-magnifying (at least from where I am sitting) cyclops needs to go too. a nice sapphire with AR would look bitchin' imho.

And I am not a cyclops hater...;)

But..but...but... the cyclops is on the inside of the crystal!
