Just received this teaser from Charmex....more to follow at Basel

We have the pleasure of inviting you as a member of our Concierge Service to the launch of our new record breaking automatic diver’s watch, the

20’000 FEET by CX Swiss Military Watch™

This automatic Swiss Made® chronograph sets a new, certified WORLD RECORD for water resistance and thus follows in the footsteps of our own 12’000 FEET (world record 2005 to 2008) & the Rolex Sea Dweller DEEPSEA (world record 2008).
The launch will take place during this year’s BASELWORLD 2009 at a press conference, held on

Friday, March 27th at 10am in the press room LUZERN, hall 1 (upper floor), opposite the press center and will be followed by a short apéro

May we please ask you to fill out the attachment & mail it back to us? Thank you.

Hi all - the link above takes you to a countdown timer for what I presume is the Basel show and the release of the 20,000.

There is a teaser pic behind the timer... which is at 15 days, 6 hours, 48 minutes as I type this.

Looks MASSIVE - but all I can make out is the square date window at 3, the huge concave marked inner bezel and some qtr hr markers on the outside bezel, with a huge shouldered crown and minutes at 9. If the shield symbol is actually red, then the dial on this one is --- silver?? I'm probably off target, but this is gonna be a huge watch. Might it have the world's first 10mm thick crystal? That would be a big puppy for the big-wristed men, I reckon.

The pic I want to see is the 20000 feet crushing the 12000 feet crushing that Doxa, the last two parts of which are a great photo on the site here. Pretty soon - we're gonna need to strap these things to our legs - cos wrists are too small to handle 'em! :)

There are some very intersting releases coming out of Basel this year, from what I read in the forums. Shadow Hublot, anyone? Now, where did I leave that lottery ticket...???

Keep the faith and have a good day, all!  IanM hand6.gif

Good eye Ian....very cool ! thankyou.gif...looks like Charmex/Swiss Military want to stay in the record books with the release of the Rolex Deep Sea...the 12,000 footer is a masterpiece in itself so this new 20,000 ft must really be something! yahoo.gif

Great news, I hope it will not grow in size. 12000 looks to big on my wrist.

I'm actually way more interested in the size, weight, movement, etc. than what it looks like....really didn't think it would look much different.

That looks to be a watch I might have to purchase. Although if its any heavier than my Barracuda, I don't know if I could wear it for more than a day.

Danny, the CX 12000 is 360 grams, I would bet the CX 20000 will be at least that heavy...if i remember right the Cuda is about 260 grams...

Here's a little comparison between the CX 12000 and the Marathon JSAR

my guess is that they will want to make the new 20,000 ft. thinner and possibly smaller as the 12,000 ft. was a bit thick for most to wear....49mm was a great case size imho and I would think they want to compete with the Rolex Deep Sea as far as size hand6.gif

I think you're right. I remember something about 8oz with the bracelet.
I tend to put the Cuda on a leather strap or my new favorite Shark from J&S.
I'll have to get some pics up if I remember.

I guess we'll have to wait a little longer for all the 20K specs

Holy CRAP...28.5mm thick, that's 5mm thicker than the 12000 Footer...Titanium case...very cool, at 265 grams thats 100 grams less than the 12000 Footer...it doesn't say how thick the crystal is but my guess is that is why it is 5mm thicker.....VERY COOL WATCH....going to have to save my pennies!!!!!
