I managed to make it to my Lions Club meeting tonight. I am president and had some important stuff to go over even though I am in pain. While there I saw one of the members who is wealthy had on a watch I hadnt seen before. I asked him if I could see his watch. He said it was a Rolex but woulndt let me get a good look at it. Here is what I noticed. 2 toned with a 3 link bracelet stainless/copperor a bronze color with broze strip on the clasp. Bronze or copper colored dial. Fixed smooth Bronze bezel. Date with magnifier and mechanical movement. I did some looking on the net and couldnt find anything. What model does it sound like? I know its not a milgaus cause of the second hand. Does it sound like it may be a Fauxlex?

My dad has what sounds like a similar watch but all stainless. I think his is a datejust with roman numerals and copper/ salmon dial, fixed machine turned or fluted bezel. Bronze in your case is it pink or yellow gold? I am suspicious of fauxlex as I've never not let someone look at a watch even cheapos.

That might be a Fauxlex Datejust with a champagne dial. You said something about a "Broze strip" on the buckle. Did you mean bronze strip? If so, then in all likelihood that's a true Fauxlex. The original buckles for any Rolex in 2 tone (or even in all steel) are all in steel and with no bronze strips. Hope this helps. Regards.

Regards.Yes, I meant bronze, must have missed the "n" while typing. The buckle was 2 tone just like the rest of the bracelet. Do they use mechanical movements in the fakes?
