I dont get guys like that.....if you have the means to spend 10K on a watch, I would think what I bought is a keeper. That the research, comparing etc would bring me to a lasting decision.

This ain't an Invicta we are talking about:D

Thinking about Tony's comments... Funny, but if spending this kind of change I would have made certain it was a keeper. However, it is just a question of how much disposable income you have at hand. My buddy from the hospital is a Cardio-Thoracic surgeon and his available disposable income is in a whole different range then mine. The past two weeks he has asked my opinion of a couple purchases flirting with watches in the 10K - 3K range. An easy range for him to handle. He's acquired a BP FF Trilogy and has a GP Seahawk II on the way. If he doesn't like him he'll flip them though he did his due diligence and is less capricious than many.

My point, this market segment is for him much akin to us buying sub-$500 watches and then flipping them. I have to admit to being envious but he worked hard and continues to work hard to make his dough. So I think it really is just a matter of perspective...toon1.gif

Yea disposable income dose come into play. I have a well off uncle that I'm not close to at all. Don't even know if we would share the time with each other on the street. :?

But my dad told me he replaces a 10K to 20K dollar watch a year sometimes even more for he puts them up at poker games and looses them. The next day he just goes and buys another. Self made man. But not close to anyone in the family but Granny. :(

When ya have big money it's like you or I loosing or flipping a $50 Timex.

I can afford a 10k watch but I am never going to do anything more than giggle at the thought it.

It seems I am just not capable of seriously entertaining spending that kind of money on a watch.

I do love looking at pictures of those expensive watches so I am glad there are people out there who can spend money like that but I am a by the pound kind of guy and when I throw 10k at something I expect at least 10k pounds worth of personal property in return.

If the BP or DSSD came packaged in a new 325I or something then I would be a lot more interested!

I am such a hillbilly when it comes to watches!
