I have always wanted a Cartier Roadster and this XL with the walnut burl dial and center links reminds me of a fine sports cars dash and center console....very classy imho! yahoo.gif![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi there O. It sure is a looker! Interesting materials used on this one. Not sure about the rose gold version in pic 2, but the SS version is extremely nice. But why no blue gemstone on the crown? Cheers - IanM hand6.gif |

the SS is actually 18K white gold which would be my preference...and I don't think the Roadsters have the blue saph cabochon on them? but man it does have that classic look....hey it's only $30,000.00 :D...I have been checking out the Roadsters at the local AD and I hope he gets one of these in.....I am looking to get 1 in the very near future but not this 1 unfortunately....I have been leaning towards a SS with grey dial/lume arabics hand6.gif |

Wow now that is something special...I do not remember seeing a T watch with wood lately... Very nice and something you would never tire of. |

I've always thought that of all of the "luxury" watch companies, Cartier had the classiest and most classic designs. I got my wife a Cartier de Santos (2 tone automatic) 15 years ago, and it is still a beauty (as is she)! |

Pure class and great use of materials that you don't see used in a watch very often. Good luck getting the one you want in the future, cheers. cool10.gif |

My only quibble...and a minor one, is that it makes the watch look a little like the Quiksilver / Nixon "Woodie-Wagon" style watches. I'm sure the veneers will have good visual depth under good lighting, but in everyday situations, I'm not so sure. It's a unique choice of materials, for sure. Very daring for an established brand like Cartier. As for the blue cabochon, I reckon it was a better choice to leave it off. If they really wanted a cabochon, I reckon something more earthy hued like Agate, Amber or Chalcedony would really set off the brown of the wood accents. I like Cartier, though not the Roadster as I'm more of a Pasha guy! We've got a Cartier at home - mom has a Tank, on some Teju Lizard or something strap, that she only wears for really formal do's. There's something infinitely cool when the media refers to the brand as the "House of Cartier". ![]() |

ummm Kang I think the Nixon/Quicksilver watches would be the copies wanting to look like a Cartier or other high end name brand Buddy...and I highly doubt Cartier is using veneers on a $30,000. watch ;) |

That is indeed a very classy looking watch. I always liked brown dials but this one is a looker, the walnut burl looks great. |

I can appreciate that the centrelinks would be solid wood lathed to shape, but for the dial....I don't know. Technically a veneer would do the job just fine. But I don't profess to be an expert on this. No hassles, it's a unique take on a classic. Guess it just didn't sit so well with my preconceptions of the brand. |

Yup, very good design. Always a nice one to look at and admire. I am not a Cartier guy at all (maybe except for the neckties;)) but the Roadster line is the closest I will get to liking Cartier. Jonathan, one thing good about the wooden dial....???? Easier to photograph without the reflections |
