Wrist Shoq | World’s Most Expensive Watches ...check the prices these watches fetched at auction! ![]() ![]() ![]() A watch signifies responsibility , class and a sense of style. However these time-pieces signify a bit more than your sister’s waterproof swatch. Watches are not bought to tell time anymore, we now have cell phones for that. But if your in the market for a high end watch and want people to know that its a rather pricey one, I give you the three most expensive watches in the world. Take the jump for more information on how to spend your money… Patek Philippe’s Platinum World Time - over $4 million ![]() This is Patek Philippe’s Platinum World Time piece. The third most expensive on our list. It was sold at an auction in 2oo2 for more than $4 million USD. At that time it was the most expensive watch in the world. It is a self winding watch, with the ability to not only show the time at home but make it very easy to see the time in any other of the 24 time zones with one quick look. It is patented to be extremely user friendly and features a better readability than others in its class. The Platinum World Time focuses on its World Time capability. It has a 24 hour ring in different tones to signify day and night can be switched to either or seamlessly. The World Time is also available in 18k gold, white gold, rose gold and of course platinum. All the internal pieces and dials to this watch are also made of gold. The inner face has a silvery sheen in all except the platinum model, where it is blue. Patek Phillipe’s Supercomplication- $11 million ![]() The number two most expensive watch on our list is Patek Philippe’s Supercomplication. It is listed at a swollen $11 million. This was a pocket watch was created in 1932 for New York Banker Henry Graves Jr. It was made of strictly yellow -gold and was actually created to be part of a competition that Graves was having with auto engineer James Ward Packard. It was to see who can commission a watch with the most complications. Grave’s watch pretty much guaranteed that Graves would pull out the victory. His watch was later surpassed by another Phillippe creation , the 18k Gold Caliber 89, which housed 33 different functions. When Graves watch was on auction in 1999 it fetched $11 million , where the Caliber 89 went for a mere $6 million. Chopard’s $25 million Watch ![]() It actually took me a few seconds to locate the actual watch within the shiny rocks . But it was there, all $25 million of it. This bulky mass that Chopard created, features three heart-shaped diamonds. A 15-carat pink diamond, a 12-carat blue diamond and an 11-carat white diamond are placed around the watch’s face. And for fun , they threw in 163 carats of white and yellow diamonds to bring the carat total to 201. Could this be the most overdone piece of jewelry ever? Possibly, but for that $25 million price tag, it will hold that title for the most expensive watch in the world until further notice. |

These are just some of the most treasured watches at current auction. They will only gain in value, speculative speaking, however The Grave's Patek Philippe is an technical achievement in itself. I wouldn't be surprized if Patek does in fact buy back the Grave's Watch for their own museum. Very impressive.hand6.gif Cheers, Simon |

The PP World Time, even just in yellow gold, is my most dreamed-of watch. I think I have been to the store window dozens of times just to marvel at it. Everything about it is in the superlative except........they forgot to put a date feature Thanks for posting this interesting topic. |

OK...maybe I am just dense but I do not get it. That is too much capital to tie up in a watch. Especially the nugget princess watch. I can admire design and beauty but there come a point of silliness. |
