I was in Solvang California today looking at some vintage watches at an antique store. After checking out a pocket watch in once case, I noticed a very large case with a good collection of vintage watches. While drooling over the case, the worker in the shop took that opportunity to try to scare a bird who had wandered into the shop out the door. What did the frightened bird do? Fly right over me and crap all over me. To add insult to injury, the woman employee who was helping me couldn't stop laughing.

Needless to say, I have never been crapped on while considering a purchase. What made it so annoying was the rude laughter from the salesperson. No I'm sorry or anything. So, screw them and their watches. Unless they were going to give them away, I wouldn't ever pass through their door again.

Vent over...

Paul

Sorry to hear about your misfortune,Paul.
However, there are probably more antique shops
out there with far better selection of pocket
watches.

I hope that from this one bad experience
doesn't ruin your chances in finding that
timepiece.

If you're interested in vintage watches,
please send me a PM and I'll direct
to a local seller, here in Vancouver.
He ships worldwide, according to his website.

Cheers,
Simon

Oh sorry to hear that, but injecting some humor:  Some days you are the bird, and some days you are the statue. goofy

Agree, though, bad luck, though have you considered the bird wanted those watches for itself? toon1.gif

Sorry to hear about your "bird" experience.  subtlelaugh.gif  Sounds to me like the salesperson was just being rude and I would have done the same thing you did, leave.  Hopefully the next store you go to will provide a much better shopping experience, cheers.  ThumbsUp02.gif

It's one thing to hava a stanger laugh at you for that, it's another to have your wife laugh at you.

Several years ago my wife and I were in Savannah, GA, walking along the boardwalk on the river when I was crapped on by a seagull....to say the least I was not happy.

We went back to the car where my wife was trying to clean it off with some paper towels and i was crapped on again....no more than 5 minutes later.

She was laughing at me so hard I thought she was going to have a heart attack..and to this day every time it comes up in conversation she laughs just as hard.

If it is considered good luck I should be living on a beach in Hawaii right now, but I'm not.  crap.gif
