Just came across Alpha watches, and they had a pretty decent comment about one model in another forum (a Speedmaster-like chrono). Actually, the best part of the watch as per the review was the bracelet, which looks pretty nice (at least in the pictures), and the watch (bracelet included...) costs slightly more than a Watchadoo.

Any opinions on the watches, bracelet, etc..???

From what I know about Alpha Watch Co.
was established in 1993. The watches
are designed and built in China but
are identical copies of famous Swiss
Brands.

The movements used are either Tianjin or the Seagull (ST-19)
which is a Venus 175 derived movement for the chronograph.
I'm not sure about the built quality of the watch
case and bracelets.

Cheers,
Simon

Just my humble 2 cents but I have 2 Alphas and they're both great! For the cost I think they're quite well done. The crystal on my chrono may be a tad sub par for durability but the case is solid and the bracelet is better than average with comfortable rounded links.  I'm glad I have them.

I have had an Alpha GMT for seven years now with no problems other than a film on the inside of the crystal. After removing the movement and cleaning the inside of the crystal, the watch has been trouble free and is very accurate.
P.S. I paid $37 delivered for the watch back in 2002.
