So, lets say you're stranded on an island in the middle of the south Pacific for 10 yrs. WITH ONLY one watch?!?! What would it be...

I'd have to take an atomic solar powered chronograph

PS- you'd have no tools available to fix a mechanical (if need be, and yes... I know a lot of you would choose this) and no batteries to replace in a quartz job (if need be)

you do know your solar powered watch has a battery in it and the solar panel only prelongs the battery life and doesn't last forever? :D

...give me a good old long lasting dependable Swiss automatic that can run forever imho...preferrably a dive watch which at this point would be my Sea Dweller hand6.gif

don't even ask how many times a new member has brought this topic up toon1.gif

Yep, I never leave home with only one watch...if I got stranded somewhere I would be sure to have a few with me.  smile8.gif

I do believe I've said it before and I will say it again...

The luminous dial also doubles as a beacon!

I must say that I would select a watch surrounded by a fully fueled, long range patrol boat equipped with GPS!mistake.gif

Considering the context of the question, I'm surprised no one went with the emergency (for obvious reasons...)

Started to wonder... If I'm so far from any civilisation, duties or work and even appointments ,TV programs and so on...I would NOT need any watch in fact!
I would wake up when I cook under the sun or when I'm enough rested, eat when I'm hungry or when I find food and use my time as I want all day long: Well mostly looking for the next meal certainly... Then go to sleep when the F**** I want because I would wake up when I want. Concluding that a watch would be a just a funny thing to look at to remember the days when I was living with humans and maybe just hang loose on my skinny-becoming wrist after some months on hard diet with very few fishes and too many coconuts or small roots who would have transformed my guts into old socks
