Hey guys,
has anyone ever sent a watch to the Netherlands? I have a sale pending but i am not really excited to ship it overseas. I hate to lose the sale but i would hate to lose the watch more. The buyer is willing to bankwire the money or paypal.
any advice? thanks,trent

I have shipped a bunch of watches to Europe and Asia and have never had a problem, sent one to the Netherlands a couple weeks ago with no issues...just shipped two out yesterday to Moscow...my advice is to always ship Priority or Express.

ship it usps express mail service and insure it on the customs form only....costs a bit more but they have to sign and it will be insured without having to declare the exact $ amount on the customs form itself as most out of U.S buyers don't want to pay the taxes...I usually will tell a overseas buyer that it will cost $20. more and they will get it in 5 days give or take hand6.gif

It actually differs by country and type of service...you can check at usps.com and it will tell you....

Also, if you do the postage online I believe the limit is $500, if you want more you need to fill out the paperwork and pay at the PO...you can not do it for $500 online and then add more at the PO, you have to do the whole transaction at the PO

Thanks guys for all the help and info. I took the time to go to the post office and ask and they told me $650 is all i can insure it for. I guess i talked to the wrong guy, you know the one that acts like he knows:X:X. I have not heard from my buyer either so he might have flaked on me but thanks again, trent
