I own the Caspian sea monster, in green, ( sse my Avatar)  and it is an excellent watch....It has really great fit and finish...

The Tubes are very bright at night, and has two tubes at the 12 posit. ..

It has a screw down crown, and a very solid screwed in case back.

The bezel is very smooth racheting, and stays in place well, very easy to read. It is narrower than other bezels and this give you a larger dial opening.

I work on the water. and have worn it for work up until this week, when we switched to long sleeve uniforms, as it is about 17mm height, and  does not fit under my sleeves easily.

I have have it in salt water, but have not did any  dives over 60 feet with it yet.

So far it has had no WR issues....

The rubber integrated strap is top of the line in my opinion.

The bead blasted finish does not  relflect light at all...which is a big plus, no shine at all off the caseyourock.gif

In other words I like this watch alot...and have put in a request to Craig to hold the all black model for me when they come in....

It does not hack, this is true...but I have been able to hold the movement and 2nd hand at the 12 position to set for timing.

There is a way to set the date without going around the dial 24 hours for each day.

I forgot how ...maybe Craig can post it again..... I keep it in a winder so no date set problem for me.ThumbsUp02.gif

The case is large at 47mm and I have gotten alot of compliments on this watch.

I highly recomend this watch... Thumbsup3.gif

The Russian "quickset" involves moving the hour hand from 12:00 to 8:00 and then back to 12:00 advancing the date along the way.:D

I have not tried it ..but I think it will look pretty good on a thick leather strap....

It has some good weight to it, even on the rubber strap.....

Of all the Russian diver's I've seen, the Caspian Sea Monster is the nicest IMHO.  I had pointed my mouse over the "add to cart" a few times but never pulled the trigger yet.  One thing for sure, I would not be afraid to put this one in water. And each time I sea your avatar Joe, I think of buying one and if I have problems with my wife after doing so, I will have to blame it on yousubtlelaugh.gif...it looks very good in green by the way.

It is a great watch...very accurate movement....The only thing I wish they would change or add would be a saphire crystal for better scratch resistance.

I have not scratched it at all, ....so far... what is good is the bezel is actually stadium shape..so the crystal is well below the outer edge of the bezel, which does give good protection to the crystal...
