Hey guys

I know it is a matter of taste mostly and I like those models equally...but wondering if you have any recommendations based on personal experience OR just specs OR just looks...

Please shoot...

Thx

Brice

Brice,

Here is my opinion and what I have heard. I like the Air Race dial better than the Kaiki, but it depends on how much you will use the GMT function. My understandiong is the AirRace city markers are not the same as the Kaiki. I think they are geared towards the locations of the racing done versus the Kaiki has the more common location. You might want to check that out :) Otherwise...get the one that appeals to you morehand6.gif

Both are great models and very similar in layout, so you may have to look at the strap/bracelet offering to match-up with your intended use— such as, bracelet & leather for dressy/everyday use and rubber strap for tool/sport use. Though, of course, you could simply switch-out the straps/bracelet... but you may not wish to add the additional expense.

Outside of what I have just mentioned, I do notice that the Navy GMT has much more of the "standard" dial layout compared to the Air Race GMT, which is more "contemporary" in layout and color use. Hope this helps...

I have this older model of the Air Race.  Nice watch but I would prefer the to own the Navy model.

Mine has Miami, Perth, Abu Dabi, Budapest, Istanbul, Berlin, Barcelona and New York.

It might be different for different years depending on where the events are held but I dont know that for sure.

I like the charm of the orange one: The color isn't too bright and got character:)

I had a Khaki GMT and flipped it. It is one of the few I have flipped that I sometimes miss. It was a great watch which did so many things right. In fact I was so smitten with it I reviewed it on my blog:

http://paxman-wasting.blogspot.com/2006/09/hamilton-khaki-navy-gmt.html

Imho it was a great and versatile watch. WR 200 m, true ETA GMT, comfy on the rubber strap and tough as nails. Lume was not so hot and I guess I felt a little mcwright-ish. The function of all crowns was smooth as silk. Now I feel melancholy!

Well you did it and got me convinced:)
I literally just pulled the trigger on this puppy for a price lower than anywhere I've seen it for sale.... And if you ate interested she has 5 more, so let me know:)
Limited Edition Poseidon. Love the colors!!

I got lucky after a lost auction :)
anywway it was a tough choice with the racer, love the orange!
But am not excluding getting the orange racer too, maybe used, to have big or just compare them first then flipping one if needed:) crap.gifcrap.gif
but I have more watches and other stuff for sale so if it continues to work well on that front then I'll just buy and keep both.... I mean who doesn't need a orange Hami Racer GMT!!!;)

thank you all!!
I have 3 more pics she sent me if you r interested!

Jeep99dad, you are a bad influence (it is always good to have someone to blame...). For some time, I have been eyeballing the Hamilton GMT's, and even missed a good priced one in another sales forum (was willing to make an offer, but the watch had already been sold, with 5 other firm interested at full price).

But after I saw the Poseidon LE in the pictures and did some research, I just HAD TO GET ONE!!! Colors are great, and a Limited Edition with a story behind (not just a color variation or so) was just too much to resist. The watch colors, design and number of units were all thought for the occasion. So, pulled the trigger as well.

Actually, the watch used by Pierre Frolla when rescuing the flag got a really nice price

How could I have missed this post, Brice?

I know I'm late to the party but I'm with William: the one that Skip's got strapped on his wrist is my choice.hand6.gif

ah ah! How did you miss it indeed?:) maybe you just blocking my posts because i am a bad influence like Ral said abovesubtlelaugh.gif

Anyway, I gotta admit it was a close race b/w this poseidon LE I bought vs the Navy BLue dial or even the charming and different orange race GMTs. In the end I could not decice but then I got a good deal on the Poseidon LE and loved its different dial, textured, numbered and color combination. I could not find the blue Navy GMT for less than 600-800$, this one was much less... which made it a winner;)

But like I sad in another post, I am not excluding the idea of of getting one of the other model GMTs later one, but probably used to it is cheaper, as I LOVE THE GMTs but also there is nothing like having the watch in hand and on the wrist to compare them and decide which is the best fit for you... I can always flip onecrap.gif

So a blue dial like Skip's is not out of the question in my futureBouncy.gif if I can find a gently used one or a good deal on the net!

Thanks! brice

Thanks Chris. I'll post my own shots including wrist shots and my impressions. I cannot wait to get it. I have been wanting a Hami GMT for a while though not this specific one, I was more into the classic look of the blue or black Navy models. But this one spoke to me when I saw it and the price was just too good to pass and not check it out in person;)
you know you want one;) you got PM
cheers

That's really a looker, Simon. Is it a 40mm? I like the hands and indeces a lot and just the right touches of gold, which by the way breached US$1,100 per ounce already.hand6.gif.

Those of us with sgnificant gold content in their watches bought about 1999-2002 are now looking at paper profits on the values of our pieces simply on material costs alone.ThumbsUp02.gif

There is one for sale in another forum for what seems to be a reasonable price.

Simon - Very nice dimensions on this very classically styled Hamilton GMT!!ThumbsUp02.gif

That one should have great wrist presence.

You're welcome,Stew for those interested
in the Jazzmaster Traveler GMT.

I had a talk with the Hamilton Rep. earlier this
afternoon. The Jazzmaster Traveler GMT,isn't
available in Canada until the Spring 2010.

Cheers,
Simon

I absolutely adore the Hamilton Navy Khaki
Monte Carlo "Operation Poseidon."

I've tried google search for Operation Poseidon,
but came up with empty...maybe someone else
can elaborate.

Simon
