Do you guys wear all your watches, rotate them day to day? Or keep them in a watch box and winder and bring them out and play with them every now and then? I tend to keep the nice ones stored in winter and then wear them in the summer when one can actually show them off. I do not wear them to work, or my wedding ring...don't want to get a watch or ring caught on anything and tear off my hand or finger. |

Yep...I wear them all the time, sometimes rotating 2-3 times a day. That's why I get them, for my enjoyment not others. Some get scant wear because of the number I have, but everyone is worn. woohoo.gif |

I do wear mine in the winter, but the long sleeves with the tight cuffs sometimes are a hinderance. I really need to transfer job site to a warmer location. |

I rotate about 8 watches every 2 to 3 months and then change to another 8 watches and rotate them again. Generally I wear 2 watches daily, one on each wrist (my long sleeve shirts cover them). If I wear just one watch on my wrist, the other watch is in the pocket. Never used winders at all. |

They are useless if ya don't wear em. Just check the daily thread and you'll see what gets worn. |

I try to wear all my watches but with 16 in my collection there are several that almost never gets worn. My 4 quartz watches have not been worn for quite some time simply because they don't need to be worn to keep running. Of the 12 mechanicals, I think 5 or 6 has been in regular rotation, with a couple that gets once-in-a-while wrist time, and a couple that never gets worn. I usually rotate a couple of watches per day. I don't use winders but I do keep a few of my favorites wound by hand. The rest powers down until I wear them again. I enjoy the interaction with my mechanical watches so hand-winding & time-resetting doesn't bother me in the least. Last edited on Thu Dec 31st, 2009 02:08 pm by GX9901 |

I'm always strapped- I only take one off to put on another one. I even sleep in one. I have a few beaters I'll wear if I fear damage. Last edited on Thu Dec 31st, 2009 02:35 pm by |

Right now my collection is at about 135 watches, I do wear a different watch everyday (with the exception of the Mega, 3rd day straight) and do usually change at least once per day. I do have watches that maybe only get worn once every month or so, with probably 50 or 60 that are in regular rotation, some more often than others... Never use winders, do not see a need for them, would rather spend the money on another watch |

I can only beaters to work. For the evenings and weekends theres a select few I like to wear and rotate some (Doxa, Stowa, LUM-TEC, Soxa, Cuda etc) but there's a bunch that are fairly neglected. These days, if I have a nice watch and its getting no wrist time, its usually sold off or flipped for something else I NEED! :D |

I do wear mine for my own enjoyment. I have met a few people striking up a conversation at a bar or such when someone notices my watch or I notice what they are wearing. Maybe I am messed up in the head, but one of the first thing I do when I meet people is I try to see what is on their wrists. |

Thank God I'm not the only one! My wife thinks I have a problem....she cannot figure out why I need more then one watch. I try to relate it to why does she need 30 pairs of shoes.....I never get an answer. |

My wife also doesn't understand why I need more than one watch. You'll also never get an answer to the shoe question; but if you do and it's a coherent one, please let in on it. |

Hey murphy j, Along with the shoes issue, how about when the wife come home from shopping and she has 2 tops in 5 different colors each and you ask why she needs the same shirts in so many colors....I just get the "look". Last edited on Thu Dec 31st, 2009 10:43 pm by DJRHodes71 |

Fortunately for me the wife isn't a big clothes shopper, so when she does come home with clothing I don't have a problem. I do notice she has a tendency to buy multiples of household items because she couldn't decide on which size, style, color, brand, etc. etc., that she wanted ![]() |

DJRHodes71.....just a rejoinder and maybe just to help you out a bit on the problem of getting the watches wound with a daily workout: 1) If I go to work in long sleeves and/or a monkey suit, I always wear 2 watches: 1 on each wrist. All the folks at the office and our counterparties know this thing about me. I guess Omegaman and I are the same on this and for sure some other 3T WIS, too. My heart goes out to Nic's daily dilemna with his 130+ watches ![]() 2) If I hit the field/stores/kitchens and need to wear short sleeves, I wear one on the wrist and 1 or 2 in my pockets. 3) When I get home, I change to the watches I never got to wear for that day and then change into cargo shorts. Each pocket of the cargo shorts will have a watch. Lastly, I wear some leather-strapped watches on each belt loop of my shorts. Thus at home, at any time, I will have about 8 to 10 watches on me getting a fairly good workout as I move around. On your comment about looking at the other person's wrist the first time you meet him, I guess a lot of us are the same. It's easy to roughly size-up a guy's personality through the watch he wears. In 7 out of 10 cases, I'm usually right about the watch-personality linkage. :) Last edited on Thu Dec 31st, 2009 11:16 pm by bigrustypig |

To make it simple, a watch I'm not wearing, is a watch I don't need :D...I always bought watches I liked and personally don't care about what other people think of what's on my wrist, even if I do appreciate compliments made... and if I don't look at the watch i'm wearing at least a hundred times a day, well, it's because I don't like it enough and it should go! |

Personaly, I use most of time one different watch everyday when I'm home for my free periods. When I leave for the job(2 weeks) I take one watch: It's been the Tissot Seastar the last months. The thing is that before, I didn't dare to take any watch on the work, but since I used thicker leather gloves who cover totally the watch, I could go with it during my 12h days without any trouble... Jeff is my favorit watch-maniac and I understand his madness even I would not dare to do the belt and pocket trick:D Cheers, you unbelievable Bigrustypig!! Hehe! |

I can deal with the strangers looks) But my question is, when you DO wear 2 watches, do you always try to get 2 that look somewhat closely alike as possible? (as above) or do you ever flagrantly wear 2 completely different styles? |

Yes all the time!! With ten watches you have a manageable rotation. It gets tougher when your get over 30 watches because now you've got one for more than every day of a month!;) |
