I don't own this GV2 "explorer" but yes it look good. I think that's an eta 2824-2 inside and the allround quality should be great(I got the GV2 square-sub with 6498 and it's nicely made)
Now for the price, many of those models explo. been turning around 250-300buks as GV2 was getting rid off stocks apparently and a bunch came on the Bay to great prices. Note also that the lume parts are minimals so don't expect a super visibility in the dark;)

hmm..good reasons not to buy this watch:

1. it dated your sister, and the breakup was an ugly one

2. it dinged your  car, and didnt leave a note or contact information

3. it is, infact,  your ex. and she stole your dog

..thats all i really have, i kinda want one too

What would be the right price? Cheapest I can find is $ 599. Have not seen anything close to 250-300.

Ral, I like the watch and the simple, no-nonsense design. But I agree with the rest that a sweeter price point might be worth aspiring for.

As for the strap, IMHO, I think it would be better to switch to a simple black one. All that color seems to clash with the watch's serious posture.;)
