I don't know about that being a "new" trend.. my brother bought himself a Swatch thin watch a couple of years ago... I hated that watchblah.gif--- Guess I'm out... |

There is thin and there is thin! Patek Phillipe seem to have done OK with their thin watches, and I can remember the marketing buzz that surrounded the release of the Corum as the thinnest watch in the world. Rado still do it with their ceramicas, and many big brands have a "thin" watch for those who like them. My thinnest are Seiko Sporturas at about 11mm. With articulated lugs - pound for pound the most comfy watches I have. Thin = dress watch, to me, and I am not really a dress watch kinda guy. But for those who have a hankering for them - I say go for it. And if you want to see something that will blow even Pax's Meg' into the weeds, I suggest that you look at the Enz* M*ch*n* blog to see his new 31mm (!) tall diver. It is whacky! im sure thin is nice if youre going to dress formal. but for everyday use, definitely not. i like my watches nice and thick |

I have a few thin watches, none of them quartzies, but all of them are dress watches and all mechanical handwinders. I guess I can still consider thin watches if they come in at least at 41/42mm and even if they are thinner than 10mm, I think they'd still be ok. What I guess I wouldn't wear right now are thin and small watches (i.e 35mm or smaller). Zenith has the Elite line and they are nicely sized and so are the IWC Portugueses, too.
