To any owners of the Boschett Cave Dweller 2 watches I have a question. I was trying purchase a used one of these watches first and then would go buy from Boschett's site if I could not find one. I had decided on the Gray dial brushed finish is the only one I really wanted.

Another person on a site has one brand new with gray dial brushed finish but has the PVD insert in the bezel. I am really not to keen on the PVD insert and would like peoples opinions on it before I tell the guy yes or no.

Thanks

You may have answered your question. If your not totally sold on it, dont buy it. Worse than no new watch, is being disappointed in the one you buy.

For a few more dollars, get what you want. You will be happier in the long run.

the most expensive watch you own is the watch you bought instead of the one you wanted!

Well put. Treat yourself right... get what you want... you shouldn't regret it then.

Thanks for all your replys. The watch is what I wanted just not with that PVD insert, and the price is what I wanna pay. I will have to look at it a little more and see if that insert is all that bad.

Not totally familiar with this model watch and the bezel, but most bezel inserts should be easy to replace. My thought is that if the watch is all you want minus the bezel insert, it seems to me that you could get it and replace the bezel insert with one of your liking. If the price is good, then it seems to me you could do that easily enough. Unless the bezel insert is not replaceable on this particular model watch? or it is so expensive that it would be best to buy a whole new watch? My 2 cents...

the CDII does not have a bezel insert...the inner section of the 1 piece bezel is IP plated and the coating is very good and should give you great service imho as I own the Swiss version...hand6.gif

Yes, that is a nice photo of a nice watch...

Well, short of replacing the whole bezel I guess he can get a new watch... Or maybe check other forums for the exact model combination he wants. He needs to be happy with it himself otherwise he will regret it until he sells it off...

Well I went ahead and bought it and will ship tomorrow. I will post pics when it arrives and if I don't like it, I can always put it for sale here for another person to buy.

Oscar, not many would bother to match their shirt to the second hand on their watch subtlelaugh.gif

I have a CDI and a CDII with the PVD bezel.  As you may know, the CDI does not have a PVD bezel.

Before buying my CDII I was plagued with whether to go PVD or not.  I was planning on buying the yellow dial Swiss movement version.  I really loved the look of the all-PVD model with the yellow dial but was concerned the PVD would wear through or scratch too easily.

I have other watches with plating and they always wear through on the bracelet clasp for me.  The ones that are black (not sure if it is PVD or something else) look the worst because the base metal color shows through the black very blatantly.  It just looks like crap.  So, I was concerned with the PVD.

But, I loved the contrast so I ended up going with the PVD bezel.  So far, I have no scratches or places worn through and the contrast against the yellow dial looks fantastic.  So for me, the PVD bezel has been perfect.

Good luck and I hope you like your selection.
