Ok I have to admint I have a few hidden watches that my wife does not know about and I am hoping I am not in this alone. How many of you have some little gem of a watch hidden from your partner? My wife does not know about my Deep Blue and a few others, makes it hard to wear at home so I save them for work....she just does not understand the NEED!!  Come on fes up you lot, I am can pretty sure my wife would not been on this forum as she would pass out from being bored.  |

My watches are locked up in my strongroom in aluminum cases. I only ever have two in public view. (cases). I don't think my better half realises how many of these cases there actually are.... She often takes a glance at a watch I'm wearing with the remark "Is that a new watch?" To which I normally respond: " Nooooo, have just not worn it in ages....." Bless her soul.....smile4.gif |

Have no hidden watches and my girlfriend know about all of them: Except if she forgot somes... We speak about my incomings on the diner table so... Whatever you hide, you'll get busted with the time: It's a law of nature. Graham: I'm sure that you are allready busted but she's telling nothing  |

Yeah I am sure she will but I will try go on as long as possible, I am taking a break after my next watch arrives. I have been looking at some electronic safes to install in my house now, I have a lot of money sat on a table in my bedroom!! |

Primarely because I needed something to protect my LP collection from fire. I would personnaly not go for an electronic safe: Who knows how it can fail you. Keys added to combination lock is a good choice when of good quality... It's stands there whatever. Don't forget: A fire-proof safe like mine protect it's containt against 1000 grades C for one hour time. It's nice to got a safe against thieves but a house fire would cook down all your watches before the fire-men arrival, if your safe isn't fire-proof  |

Don't feel bad at all! Not everyone is married to the same woman. I just never bring a box in to keep it from being an event. No dishonesty just no disclosure. It is just a watch to her. She has far more items I've never seen then I have. I just run out of money quicker. |

What she doesn't know won't hurt her so if she doesn't ask, I disclose nothing. "Ask me no questions and I tell you no lies" My watches are well distributed in an office safe and also in bank safe custody boxes in vaults that can withstand over 1,000 degrees for 5 hours....so I guess they are pretty safe. Besides, we made an airtight deal and shook on it: Watches, SI !!! Pretty ladies, NO!!! |

Well, no partner, but since I'm back at home until I finish this internship I do have to hide the new purchases from the mother. She doesn't quite understand me spending MY own money on things that I enjoy hah. |

I've never hidden any, but often my wife won't notice a new watch for weeks or even months after I start wearing it. As long as I don't go hog-wild she never complains. |

I only tell the wife when the watch is incomming, don't mention any that may be on long term pre-order. Just told her about the Sea Viper, got the usual response "not another watch". It's hard for me to justify another watch as she says they "all look the same to me". I just put up with a little strained silence for a while, but she soon gets over it.woohoo.gif |

I traded my wife for a new car and a gun safe, filled the gun safe with watches, I really enjoy the company I'm keeping now more than the company I was keeping then! I've had a new car between then and now and bought a few more watches since then too, There's no point trading all my toys in for another wife now, it would be trading down any way I do the math. |
