Saw this on another forum and thought it would be good fodder for discussion. A little history for those not in the know..... If you have not heard Invicta has been selling a new Speedway model with a Dubuis-Depraz 2021 module movement that has an incredibly high failure rate (higher than normal). It was stated by Slop and Invicta that the problem had been identified as a D-D problem and that Eyal was in communication with them and that D-D was addressing the issue. It was also stated in the presentation of the watch on Slop by Eyal that Invicta was lucky to be doing business directly with D-D and it was a real honor to be getting these movements direct from D-D. So a fellow WIS decided to contact D-D directly to find out the real story...here is the email sent to D-D and their response. This all comes on the heels of Eyal admitting that Invicta watches with "SWISS" on the dial are in fact made in Asia. Remember that Google is your friend if you want more details on this ENJOY!!!!! Dear Mr. Becker, I am writing to you to inquire if you had seen or heard of the complaints by buyers of a new Invicta watch that has been touted as using the Dubois 2021 module. If not, all of the posts, unedited by my small forum of dedicated collectors are available for viewing. It seems that the hands on the watches were mis-aligned and there were other related issues. The TV cable host of the site where these Invicta Speedway watches were sold made a big deal of the fault being that of Dubois. He went out of his way to state the owner of Invicta Watch Group would be having a "loud conversation" with Dubois Dupraz. He and the watch company have made it clear that the faults of the problems discussed are not the fault of Invicta and repeated opinions that the fault lay with your company. It was inferred by the afore-mentioned Host for Shopnbc, Jim Skelton that other unnamed watch companies had experienced similar problems with Dubois modules. As the owner of several watches with Dubois modules including a Maurice Lacroix, I would dispute that statement. I am also asking if you could provide any information as to the back-story on this issue and perhaps how Invicta came to obtain this module. The vendor made a big show on how difficult it is to obtain them and to be approved by Dubois. Of course, this same company has been forced to admit that the watches it sells with the word Swiss at the 6 oclock position have Chinese movements in them. Most of us are of the opinion that the modules or movements and modules were obtained from a third party other than Dubois and exported to the middle east. Our little forum, which has 80 core members of long time serious watch collectors has aproximatly 500 visitors a day. Not too bad for a forum which does no advertising, and limits membership to those approved by the members themselves. If you do respond, I could if permited, post the response for people to view. We are small but our reach is very long. Best regards, HERE IS DUBUIS DEPRAZ RESPONSE TO HIS EMAIL; Re: Dubois 2021 & Invicta fiasco From: Christopher Becker Ccadubois@dubois-depraz.ch, emetzger@dubois-depraz.ch Sent: Fri, Jun 11, 2010 02:17 Dear , Thank you for your e-mail. As a matter of fact, I received a call about this from someone in New Jersey just last week. We are currently investigating what has happened here, and can clearly state the following: 1) Invicta has never purchased a movement or module from Dubois-Depraz. We have had sporadic contact in the past, but to date no movement has ever been supplied to them. 2) The 2021 has been made by the hundreds of thousands, and "opinions" notwithstanding, we have never heard from any customer for this movement regarding the types of problems you have described. After hundreds of thousands, we think we would have by now if there were actually issues. 3) Since Invicta is not a customer of ours, we have no idea if the movements alluded to are in fact genuine DD modules or not. We have seen "duplicates" of our modules in the past (sadly, not bad ones, either), and if they are such, Invicta may very well not even be aware that they are, since they have never had the real thing to compare it to. If they are genuine, we do not know how many hands they passed through before they arrived at Invicta, and what treatment they were subject to. 4) We have contacted Invicta Watch and requested not only their reaction to your e-mail, but also 5-10 samples of cased watches with the modules to determine their origin (see 3) above) and initial sales point (both of which we can do). As you and your members are surely also aware, the casing procedure itself is very delicate and can de-regulate a chronometer-grade movement as well as cause damage to components, such as dials and hands, if done improperly. 5) Obviously, the President of Invicta has not had, nor would he have reason to have had, any "loud conversation" with Dubois-Depraz since he is not even a customer. I would be very surprised if he or anyone from his company publicly blamed DD for something of that nature as claimed; it is not his style as I have known him. Any person making the types of claims you have mentioned in your e-mail should be advised to be very sure of their information, and the veracity of any information, before making pejorative public statements, especially on a national network. You may feel free to post this response on your site, and we appreciate your keeping us informed of these events. Kind regards, Chris Becker Business Development Manager--Americas Dubois-Depraz SA |

I'm shocked that someone as knowledgeable as Oompah Lupah would blame DD for the POS Invicta has been making for years!....it's nice to know that more than one WIS was able to copy his statements before they were erased!!!![]() MD post from 5/27: Speedway Elite Issue Update - 05/27 I was able to speak with Eyal very late last night and part of what was discussed was the issues related to the Speedway Elite. I wanted to share with you what came out of that conversation. First of all, what has been stated before still remains true. That being, this never should have happened. Eyal is very upset over the fact that all of this is happening. The bottom line is that, as a company, we are doing all that we can to make this situation right. Obviously, for those not wishing to keep their watch and take the route of getting it repaired, you can return it to SNBC for a full refund. I would just add that we strongly urge everyone taking the route of returning their watches to PLEASE add a note along with your watch that it is physically defective. We, obviously, do not want to have even the possibility of SNBC sending out watches that they thought were simply returns with no physical defects. For those who wish to have their timepieces repaired, I would urge you to read the first post of this thread created by Jim located here: XXXXXXXXXXXXX Additionally, I will share with all of you that Eyal communicated to me that Dubois-Dupraz is working with us directly on a case by case basis to identify and correct the issues with each of the watches. Once a root cause has been identified, I have asked Eyal to share that information with me so that I can, in turn, post it here and share it with all of you. Watches are just now beginning to come into the office in FL and they are each being expedited to Switzerland for review and analysis by Dubois-Dupraz. As I have more information, I will share it with you all here. Again, you have my apologies as well as those of Eyal for having to experience these issues on such a great watch with such a unique movement in it. It should not have happened and all that can be done to rectify the situation is being done. Thanks for your time in reading this. __________________ Michael JSkelton post from same day: I'm beginning to personally believe that this IS more of a DD issue than an Invicta issue. Learned today through conversation with another brand that they have seen "slop" in the gear train of some DD modules that can create an up/down shift in the gears. This means they may not always be in contact with each other and slippage can occur. Invicta would not know to check for this in standard QC. Is this absolutely the case? No idea yet, but I hope to find out soon. Could be a DD thing, could be an Invicta thing. No one knows yet. |

Nick you forgot this one Buddy....this could only have been posted by someone many of us know and belonged to the same forum with at one time to know Oompah Lupah......the pic is worth a 1000 words...!![]() Invicta Gets a 55mm-sized Lawsuit Posted by Kevin Wimberly under Featured Case, Patents | Tags: complaint, design patent, eyal, invicta, jim skelton, lawsuit, patent | [11] Comments Invicta evokes a polarizing response from “watch geeks.” Some appreciate the value-priced quality while others sniff that Invicta is merely a “TV brand” due to its ubiquitous presence on ShopNBC. Still others delight in the (fictional) misfortunes of its CEO from disgruntled purchasers. More recently, Invicta has been blazing a trail in the oversized watch market. (For reference, the typical Rolex “Submariner” style dive watch case is about 40 millimeters. Invicta is now regularly producing watches with cases over 50 millimeters in size and 20 millimeters thick.) Video capture from 4/11/2010 ![]() Me – I’ve grown tired of the typical home shopping TV doublespeak. “One time only” prices that magically get lower the next month; “limited editions” that are offered again and again with slight deviations in design; a “Reserve” line that was supposed to be, uh, reserved, for extra-premium timepieces that now cost less than the non-Reserve line. I could go on. And on. The Invicta shows on ShopNBC do make for an entertaining evening at home. Whether it’s the host’s thinly-veiled, juvenile jokes about “brown eye” dials and “slapping a beaver” on your wrist, or the feigned astonishment and gasps that precede “that price must be a mistake,” you can’t beat live home-shopping TV. So I might be biased as I write about this new lawsuit against Invicta. I take it personally. Invicta’s CEO, Eyal Lalo, seems to be a pretty ethical guy. Back when the host of ShopNBC’s watch shows was known as “http://www.watchuseek.com/cgi-bin/anyboard.cOompaLupah” on a watch forum that I frequented, Eyal http://www.watchuseek.com/cgi-bin/anyboard.cgi?fvp=/classics&cmd=get&cG=837323&zu=383732&v=2&gV=0&p=]personally responded to customer questions and even sent a bunch of us a fancy Invicta watch box. (I’ll sell mine to anyone interested if the price is right…) Eyal also constantly remarks about how he is the named inventor on multiple patents covering the designs of Invicta watches. He recognizes the importance of patents, and he should. The Invicta Lupah design is widely copied by other manufacturers. So, that’s why reading this Complaint is so tough. Despite my love/hate relationship with Invicta and its marketing channels, I tend to support the brand overall. A few months ago they started selling a new watch design with several ![]() Imagine my surprise, then, when I saw: Plasticase, Inc. v. Invicta Watch Company of America (Complaint HERE, Exhibits HERE) Damn. The case was filed April 6, 2010 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The allegations are straightforward. Eyal calls company to see about having some plastic storage cases customized for use with watches. Company sends sample cases to Eyal. Eyal never responds with an order or “no thanks.” Company sees its patented case design on national TV. Company calls Eyal to see if he intends to order any cases based on the samples. Eyal says he is “passing on the opportunity.” Oops. If true, the allegations paint a very disappointing picture of this watch company and its charismatic CEO. Plasticase is basically saying that Eyal ordered some sample cases then, rather than order from the company that designed the cases, he shipped them off to China to have them made cheaper. As you already know from reading this blog, fairly recent changes have occurred in the infringement analysis for design patents. In a “knockoff” case like this, the patentee-friendly Egyptian Goddess standard might not even matter. If the case doesn’t settle soon, Plasticase should get everything it needs for a slam dunk via discovery requests. Invoices from China and Eyal’s own conduct in ordering the samples is 80% of this case. Add in plaintiff’s design patents and proper marking of the cases, and this should be over. Of course, Invicta hasn’t answered yet, and the Complaint is obviously slanted to one side. Invicta is innocent until proven guilty. This is definitely one case that I’ll be following with interest. I’ll even make this deal – if the case goes in Plasticase’s favor on summary judgment or via a jury verdict, via multiple choice, I’ll let my readers choose the fate of one of my Invicta watches, and I’ll post a video of the destruction. |

Here is the post Eyal made over at the "land of oz" explaining "his" meaning of Swiss Made...in summary admitting that watches he claims are Swiss made really are not. ![]() I have been asked to personally clarify the confusion with the markings on the watches. I feel I have a confident and open enough relationship with our customers to make a clear statement and get this matter clarified once and for all. While I know that it is impossible to satisfy everyone, it is our commitment to keep a top level relationship with our very loyal customer base. There is a definite gray area in the use of the words “Swiss”, “Swiss Made”, “Swiss Movements”, “Swiss Parts”, “Swiss Components”, and “Swiss Registration”. The fact of the matter is that, like in many “multiple-component” products, where the country of origin adds value to the product, we tend to highlight that. A perfect example is the auto industry. You might buy a Mercedes that is manufactured in Mexico using German engineering, some German parts, etc. The brand focuses on highlighting their “German” standards. Much in the same way, the watch industry does when Swiss is present. Without mentioning brands, it is important to understand that Switzerland almost produces NO watch components except parts associated with the movements, and assembly. What this means is that if you bought a $6000.00 Swiss Made Chronograph from “Brand X”, what you are likely buying is a watch that houses a Swiss Made movement (And even the movement components themselves have their own complicated breakdown value. For instance, even if a movement is “Swiss Made”, it does not mean every part in the movement was made in Switzerland, only a given percentage of that ) and the watch was assembled and tested in Switzerland. We do the same, and hopefully that brings clarity to everyone that when we mark a watch “Swiss Made”, you are buying a Swiss Made watch with a Swiss made movement, that is assembled in Switzerland. Then we get into the way we use the word “SWISS”. The the word “Swiss” was used on watches as a description for a watch using a movement with Swiss part Origins. This includes movements that are bought from SWISS COMPANIES, with SWISS ENGENEERING, that are tested in Switzerland, but has components that are sent off to the Far East for cost purposes to be assembled. Examples of these are ETA, Ronda, ISA, “Far East versions”. They were developed to assist in delivering the consumer more value, on an otherwise identical item. Today, the word Swiss is used on watches that are very inexpensive, because the brand used a Swiss Movement Far East assembly version. Yes as companies we do call more attention to this than the fact that the movement is assembled in China, but that’s marketing. Then there is the talk about the Swiss Federation. I cannot speak too much into the Swiss Federation standard because it is a private foreign entity, not a law dictating body, and we do not belong to it for a variety of reasons I prefer not to go into. I respect companies developing a stamp of approval and charging for it, such as COSC, but to be part of a group that develops standards on watches based on the direction of the “big players” in the watch industry, and attempting to apply them to smaller companies without giving them a fair chance, is a monopoly, and I am strongly against that. I make this statement on a personal level, and hope that it can bring some level of clarity to this discussion. Sincerely, Eyal |

WOW....Deja Vu for most of us here!![]() Invicta’s Latest Stumble is a Stunner! June 14, 2010 WHAT a weekend it’s been for critics and devotees of the Triumvirate of shady known as Jim Skelton’s ShopNBC, Invicta Watches and the horological world’s branch of Scientology known as watchgoobers.net. On the heels of Invicta CEO Eyal Lalo’s revelation that Invicta timepieces labeled SWISS are actually Swinese and on the day of the Watchgeek’s first annual gathering of the Jimilo’s, the revelation that the flop known as the Invicta Speedway Reserve featured a Dubois Dupraz movement not sourced from the source. This despite Eyal Lalo and Jim Skelton inferring that it was. Fear and anger quickly spread through Invicta’s camp of loyal followers as many started to suspect that they may have blown a thou-wow on a Chinese copy; a suspicion driven in a big part by Invicta admitting that they misled buyers of SWISS labeled watches into believing that they were buying Swiss made timepieces and not Swiss Parts / Chinese cased watches like several Android or Croton models. I never thought that they were counterfeit; most notably because the current global economic depression that has Swiss watch sales falling off a cliff. Whether you love Invicta or hate them they do have, at least for now, a fan base that rivals some Major league Sport franchises. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that as sales fell, several major companies are probably unloading movements in a bid to keep liquid assets waiting for a reversal. And Invicta die-hards keep buying with salvation only 5 value pays away. watchgoobers immediately went into damage control. How? By deleting posts and banning members. The same Yellow Shirts that trolled several of my blogs were in full force, causing trouble on threads to force a violation of WG’s Terms Of Service in a bid to get threads closed and ultimately deleted, with some members calling out these individuals. They pretty much succeed and enough Sheeple accepted it and complied with silence. I find it unimaginable how that site still has members after this latest revelation – what type of person takes Corporate bullying lead by a toad like Jim Skelton? If you’re one of those people and you’re reading this; why are you still a member? Aren’t you feed up with the phony two party system and multi-national corporate serfdom? Where is the outrage of being treated like a sucker; a mere means to someones fiscal end? But I digress. THE big issue are the continued seemingly untruths released as statements of fact and sometimes, like the case with the Swinese watches, admissions. When it became clear that the Speedway had serious issues, vague statements were released on the WG site. Customers who had purchased it were assured that Lalo was directly communicating with DD directly through “many conference calls” and this threatened to put “several large scale projects with D-D” “ON HOLD”. Skelton’s statement from Lalo went on to state, “All involved believe the issue is a D-D issue” and so “D-D as” Skelton understands is “owning up to their responsibility”. Skelton also made a statement and implied that it was a problem with the movement in a bid to redirect the anger from his forum’s sponsor; precisely the slippery slope of interwoven shenanigans and self interests that I pointed out in October. But as the emails began to surface, from both an inquiry and several angry purchasers of the turd, it became clear that this was another Lalo “Swiss is Swiss Made” misspeak. According to Jim Skelton, ShopNBC’s resident horological expert and watchgeek forum owner, the problems with the hands can be solved with a washer, and we can expect a statement from DD and Invicta within a few days. I suspect a team of lawyers is working hard to retract Eyal’s statements an absolve DD from any responsibility. In light of the technical solution to the problem, the question really is where were these watches assembled? One would assume that a Swiss manufacturer would be aware of these nuances and build the watches accordingly with respect to the precise tolerances required. And so this begs the question: are these pieces in fact Swiss Made? ONE also has to wonder what liability might Skelton have and how might that extend to ShopNBC. I have a suspicion that Skelton may have sold his interest in WG to SNBC. Do I have proof? No. But there are a couple of interesting facts: he has been on an extended medical leave because of issues with his jaw related to TMJ – yet he’s stated that he hasn’t had time for WG because he recently bought a new house and has been on the phone with movers and he’s also purchased a new muscle car to park in the driveway. So he appears to be flush with cash and just a few weeks ago, Michael “f***in” Davis made a vague, seemingly stunned mention opposite Shawn Wilsie, of “Big Acquisitions”. With the economy what it is – ShopNBC reporting a 6.6% drop in net sales in the first quarter of the year – would you burn through money? The elephant in the room is the hiring of Bill McGrath and ShopNBC’s Anywhere Initiative. their aim is to leverage social media sites like Twitter and Facebook as well as iPhone apps and shopnbc.com. So where does that leave watchgoobers? Competition . And then there is that sticky matter of Jim’s comments regarding the debacle as a DD issue. His words: “Learned today through conversation with another brand that they have seen “slop” in the gear train of som DD modules that can create an up/down shift in gears.” But he did manage to add within the same message, “Is this absolutely the case? No idea yet…” I’m not a legal scholar so I don’t know if the final bit absolves him of responsibility. I don’t think it does because it implies direct knowledge of “slop” in some of D-D’s movements. As an agent of ShopNBC, I think this may open the way to a lawsuit against his employer. He is one of the faces of ShopNBC and has implied in the past that he is no horological amateur. But only sometimes. When the heat is on, he’s just the guy that sells the watches. I for one, eagerly await the outcome. I’m really hoping that, eventually, the big picture here is realized; that the simply awful business practices that have been displayed time and time again are dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. Hopefully, this doesn’t read as over-dramatic, but if this sort of thing happened at a car manufacturer…well, does Toyota’s recent travails spring to mind? Certainly there’s a big difference between dangerous, faulty auto pedals and the cheap jack stuff the watch company constantly pulls off, but it’s getting to the point that it seems businesses can get away with virtually anything. Attorneys General? Departments of Consumer Affairs? BBB? FTC? Where the f*** is everybody??? June 15, 2010 at 12:38 am Eyal was buying movements out of the back of a van. The culture of nepotism at ShopNBC needs to be stopped. Eyal constantly gets defended by Skelton, Davis and all of the hosts. He’s a carny. I don’t know why I expect a higher quality from the channel when they sell Suzanne Somers kitsch. They have 168 hours a week to fill and I don’t see them getting rid of Invicta. They’ve pimped it too much the last 8 years to admit they were wrong. The only hope is that if the Comcast merger gets approved that they shut the network down. June 15, 2010 at 1:05 am February and March were the SAIII and Venom kits with the screw problems, April was the Plasticase knock-off lawsuit, May was Swiss does not = Swiss Made as they told everyone for years, now June is this Speedway disaster. Can’t wait for July! BTW, love this line “horological world’s branch of Scientology known as watchgoobers.net.” BWHAHAHAHAHA! As for the Invicta-Davidians, the train will keep on merrily along. Sure the movements are genuine, and honestly I am happy they are for the poor saps who bought them. Some should know better to be sure, but I am sure many fell for the lies bloviated on air by Jim and Eyal. Speaking of lies, interesting how the point of the discussion initially which was the flat out bold faced lies by Eyal, Jim, and Michael are all forgotten about as “miscommunication” and so long as the movements are genuine, hey the Invicta-Davidians go back to dunking their head back in the sands of lamedom. I honestly feel bad for Dubois-Depraz most of all. They were totally the innocent party here (at least till the end). It was Jim, Michael, and Eyal who tried to lay the blame of this Edsel at their doorstep and DD did not even know Invicta had possession of their movements! Now they will enter into a business relationship with Invicta despite all this, for that I am a little disappointed in DD. But I guess the bottom line will always be the bottom dollar in business so I can’t fault them too much. DD, if you read this I want you to be aware that Invicta sporting your movements may make you some short terms sales, but Invicta’s with DD movements will in no way enhance your sterling reputation or prestige of your movements. In fact just the opposite. There is a reason no one drops a Porsche engine in a Dodge Dart. Invicta may indeed take a stinging ding short term for these debacles, but they will just lower the floor on prices again to bring in a new batch of suckers. My question is, at what point does Shop NBC finally say enough is enough in spite of sales. Invicta and Jim Skelton give your network a black eye time and time again. You will never break #3 with them on board, I promise you that. June 15, 2010 at 8:44 am Maybe and possibly ShopNBC has had enough, at least with what they can currently control right now today. His on air schedule has been changed and he is not on the air this week at all. I guess his big WG weekend was to much for his jaw or possibly he is in some sort of serious timeout until the legal department can get a grip on what type of damage Invicta, Skelton and WG’s has done this time. } June 15, 2010 at 8:45 am I think Lies All Lies said it best. “I can’t wait for July”. Invicta, Skelton and Davis continually step on their dicks at every turn. How any of these guys manage to stay employed is a mystery to me. I also feel sorry for DD. They didn’t even know of this situation and their name was being dragged through the mud by Skelton. I can see a lawsuit against ShopNBC from DD over this. Why Shop continues to risk this by employing that blowhard, is another mystery. Oh well, another pile of steaming feces is served up fresh for the Geeks. Eat up!!! June 15, 2010 at 12:04 pm The big I will survive this just fine, as will Jimmy. Michael could possibly be tossed under the bus is they do truly need a sacrificial troll. There are enough nycruza and 50mmWhenUp types out there that take some perverse pleasure in being lied to…they keep the big I afloat. Probably will see a bit more of Jill though, maybe to keep Uncle Eyal out of the spotlight until this blows over…he will no doubt be “traveling”. All they need to do is teach Jill a couple of more phrases besides “Free Shipping!!” and “NEVER needs a battery”…and on the air she goes. Of course she will have to put up with the various WG stalkers who go around sportin’ wood every time she makes an appearance. And the next time one of these POS watches gets dumped on the WGs…you can bet the cruza-dude will once again claim to have his big I piece of junk “appraised by his jeweler for insurance” and imply it is worth a small fortune…or at least enough to cover his value pays if it falls off his wrist. The post is HorseCrap Approved!! |

Hell is unleashed and Invicta is at the front seat... ![]() Soon, they will need a poor devil to take the heat in hope to avoid a crack-down... And who will be that man? ![]() I will offer a Speedway to the first one who gives me that name! ![]() Just kidding, my watch works and I hold on it suckers! |

As those of us who belonging to the WUS Invicta Forum years ago, it was apparent then that Jim Skelton was a narcissist and that Eyal Lalo was a pathelogical liar. Now the truth is finally coming out. The lies have become so great and so overwhelming that they are ludicrous. Why ShopNBC hired Skelton in the 1st place is beyond me...he is a known grifter and con-artist who has apparently spent his life scamming people out of their money. It is even reported that he stole money being raised for charity in some sort of "cigar" forum scam. He is nothing short of a dirt-bag that needs to be fired immediately if SNBC is to maintain any credibility. As for Lalo, the unethical scum of the earth...of course he would spin the "Swiss" story. What ethical businessman would openly and proudly admit that he saw international standards honored by others as a "gray area" and that he was allowed to use that gray area, if it even exists...to exploit and cheat his customers. Both of these guys deserve jail time...they are the lowest form of humanity! Just my 2 cents! |

Meaning that Invicta took him for what he was and paid him for that: Beeing a good con-artist...Him and his crime-buddy. Look: It worked! Invicta been selling a lot during years with them, making a fat belly and as I told, they allways have the choice to let those guys taking the heat when it goes wrong... They will say: "They acted on them own and we didn't know that they was going so far, breaking some laws...Invicta is not standing behind what those men told publicly on TV and forums!" At the worst, Invicta will close the doors and the owners will run away with thick Swiss accounts... Maybe starting another company some years after when they will be fed up to cruise the warm seas on luxury yachts, having a mojito in the right hand and a roly on the left wrist with some busty chicks running around in a wet tshirt contest since a blue marlin bite on them custom fishing rod deeping in the turquoise ocean.... ![]() |

I found this on a forum posted by TVDinner who I am sure is a member here too! PUBLIC statement about the current confusion with Swiss and Swiss Made printed on his company's watches - someone had to make an UNofficial counter comment. Here it is: ---------------------------- I have been asked to personally clarify the confusion with the different type of markings on Swiss cheese. I feel I have a confident and open enough relationship with cheese to make a clear statement and get this matter clarified once and for all. Everyone wants to know if it is "Swiss" Cheese or "Swiss Made" Cheese. I know, I know, it is very confusing. While I know that it is impossible to satisfy everyone, - some people love Cheddar cheese. We get that. But it is our commitment to make top level Swiss cheese that IS NOT moldy and where the holes do not fall off 5 minutes after you get it home! We will not try to deceive our very loyal customer base or do anything to damage that obsessive and completely blind relationship. There is a definite gray area in the use of the words “Swiss”, “Swiss Made” when it comes to our cheese. The fact of the matter is that, like in many “multiple-component” products, the country of origin where the cow was born adds value to the Swiss cheese product. In the dairy world we tend to highlight that. A perfect example is the watch industry. You might buy a watch that is manufactured in China using special outer space-Martian engineering and some Swiss parts (like maybe just the the bracket that holds down the battery), etc. The brand focuses on highlighting their “Swiss” standards. Much in the same way, the Swiss cheese industry does when the word "Swiss" is present. Without mentioning brands, it is important to understand that Switzerland almost produces NO CHEESE, except producing some big beefy cows that produce milk that ultimately becomes .... you guessed it....CHEESE. What this means is that if you bought a $6000.00 65mm Cube of "Swiss Made" Cheese from “Brand X”, what you are likely buying is a block of cheese that was made from Swiss cows, BUT the holes in the cheese where actually put there by Chinese factory workers. (And even the Swiss cheese holes themselves have their own origin - a magical and mythical land called Reserveville. This is so secret that even I can not tell you the truth right now, but someday, when the next controversy about our cheese explodes, maybe then I will come clean. Hopefully this brings clarity to everyone what we mean when someone puts “Swiss Made” on their cheese. You know you are buying a Swiss Made Cheese that has only the top top quality holes in it that were HAND ASSEMBLED in Switzerland. Still confused. I'm sorry to hear that. Let me explain more. Then there is the talk about the Swiss Cheese Federation. I cannot speak too much into the Swiss Cheese Federation standard because I am not a member of it since they just wont let me in no matter how many times I request entrance. I have begged and begged but they wont budge. They think my Swiss Cheese is a knock off of their top quality, well respected, the best ever cheese. For some reason they think my cheese is not legit or up to their Swiss Made standards. Finally I want to make this 100% clear. Our cheese IS NOT made in Switzerland. It is NOT "Swiss Made". As I have CLEARLY explained above - our cheese is "Swiss" only and that makes all the difference. You might be confused, but you should not be because I have explained it all above. Now stop asking these crazy questions and just buy whatever I have to sell in the dairy section regardless of what pointless word I stamp on the side of our cheese. I hope I have brought some level of clarity to this discussion. Sincerely, TVDinner, The Swiss Cheese King PS - please stop sending me emails asking if the holes are functional holes or just decor holes. You can clearly see that we screw our cheese holes all the way through the cheese by hand. Long Live The Cheese |

Yes I agree the name ruins some of the nicer watches produced. I like my pro diver as it was not expensive but looks nice and has good lume. It is my opinion that nothing will really come of this. Invicta will probably contact DD and come to some sort of "financial understanding" and then a statement will come out sort of to the effect - "the movements are genuine, but were obtained from different than normal channels and this caused some of the initial confusion" and then to pacify DD they statement will of course absolve the movement saying something like "the problem is not with the movement, but another technical issue..." any statements or assertions that were made by the Slop posse will conveniently be ignored and deleted like they never existed and everyone will move on their merry way and be free to sell Swiss watches (South West Indochina Sweat Shop) |

You may be right, but there could be more serious issues..if the watches were Swiss Made according to your definition (BTW, that is hilarious, I'm sure EL had that in mind all the time) then Inslicta has some serious problems with US Customs...the watches dto say Swiss Made on the dial, and the fact that it is all over the internet I don't think they can sweepit under the rug, they may try, but they probably will not get away with it. There is actually a form on the US Customs website that allows you to electronically submit info on a company and product that you think may have violated US import laws. Stay tuned |

Here's the newest from JIM UPDATE: New info on the supposed "Debacle" over the validity of D-D movements I just got off the phone with Eyal and need to update everyone on some facts. It is now clear that there was a misunderstanding on this whole matter. An official statement would be forthcoming by Invicta (Eyal Lalo) and D-D (Mr. Chris Becker) together, in a few days. In the interim there are some facts that must be mentioned:
Feel free to distribute this information wherever you'd like....... -Jim ****** EDIT ****** After posting my thread, this was posted. A direct reply from Mr. Becker from D-D on the subject. from Christopher Becker <********.com> reply-to Christopher Becker <*******.com> date Mon, Jun 14, 2010 at 4:57 PM subject Re: Dubois-Depraz and Invicta We have determined today that the movement is in fact genuine, and that there are no technical problems associated with the movement from the factory. An official statement will be issued on the net shortly. Best, Chris __________________ |

Yeah William! You saved my day: let's buy an Invicta!![]() Honnestly: #1: Did they test-try any watch and it's reliability when making the first prototype mounted with module DD??? Doesn't look like it... #2: If they was so sure of them self about assembly, that they didn't put any watch on the test-bench: What kind of sorry asses are working in them "Swiss" workshop? Guys who never mounted any DD module in them life and don't know the thickness's standards on dials sitting on those modules??? #3: If there is a dial problem: This problem is common to all Invicta watches made in this serial. Then, why don't they allready stipulate that they will retreive every single watch faltly made to replace the dials at no cost? Are they hoping that some dials work out to save some client-service??? #4: What kind of factory stand behind the fabrication of those funky dials and who mounted them? Because I put all those crabs in the same bucket: As wannabe professionals taking contracts who stands way over them technical and knowledge's capacities. If they are Swiss and reputated factories: How did this happen??? Maybe they just never been Swiss....Will Invicta ever say them name? #5: Will they ever make some public excuses to DD after accusing them falsly and publicly to have produce defectuous modules??? If they should do so: The earlyest would have been the smartest. In them last post for exemple: Instead of defending them own nest... |

I'll continue to contend Invicta can produce a good inexpensive watch. I really think they have ost sight of this and aspire to be something they are not and will never be. Let's face it; if you throw down some cash you can get some really fantastic and interesting watches from true Swiss manufacturers of any number of boutique brands. Invicta should keep churning out inexpensive pieces with funky designs... say like android... and may be this would be a good niche for them. Instead they aspire to make 55mm+ Reserve Special Edition BS good folk are led to believe are really to pinnacle in watch making and design. They suck you dry on value pays and leave you with a hardly re-saleable POS. Hopefully this incident will shake a few more off the tree and they can find the true joy of watch collecting. PEACE! |

The Original Invicta Watch Co. Meaning “invincible” in Latin, Invicta watches were actually made as early as 1837. Founder Raphael Picard wanted to bring people high quality Swiss watches at affordable prices. The company began its history in La Chaux-de-fonds, Switzerland. I fondly recalled when Invicta Watches of yester-year were a timepiece that was worthy to an Eterna,Longines, Certina or a Mido. Of course, that was a sentiment held by a relative of mine who still owns a 1950's manual chronograph. Eyal Lalo is an embarrassment to every honest CEO in the watch industry. Watch Time Magazine, even wrote an article about Eyal Lalo a few months ago! Sad state of affairs. |

EL promised over a week ago via his mouth piece JS that a joint statement from Invicta and DD would be released explaining the "misunderstandings" A thread was started yesterday in gooberland on this subject, including a poll. The overwhelming response from the members is that there will never be anything said on this subject again....maybe they are catching on. Then one of the kool-aid drinkers said that no way would EL risk losing all the business he gets from gooberland, it would kill Invicta's sales....what an idiot. Another member posted, very eloquently, that based on Invicta selling 2,000,000 watches per year and information in the Slops public financial s as to the total revenue and what they realize from watch sales that at best the goobers are responsible for maybe 2% of invicta's total sales....EL can give a rat a$$ about that, I wouldn't be surprised if he pull out of there completely Last edited on Mon Jun 21st, 2010 11:21 am by Nabco |

..... that last e-mail from Mr.Becker of DD has not been verified as being genuine and rumored a fake as well as everything that comes out of Invicta and Eyal ......things only got worse when Skelton entered the scene with his paid for reviews of Invicta Prodivers back in 03-04' on the old Invicta forum when even back then he was denying any association with Invicta....many a WIS have been duped by this POC for years and unfortunately it continues years later with a trail of back-stabbed WIS lying in his wake. ...I keep hearing how Invicta filled a void of inexpensive watches at a great price which was the feeling we had back in 2000 when the company came into existence with a sub $100. sub homage which at the time was a sweet watch followed by a few others but in a short few years Invicta lost the focus they once had and most of us figured out that Invicta had become nothing more than cheap mass produced Asian watches made by an owner who worked on volume vs quality without any CS/QC to back his product up and thus the Asian eta was created. ...this is still the Invicta Watch Co. owned by a less than ethical businessman who likes to collect losers from various walks of life to promote his watches and do his dirty work who are loyal to the core to him because they owe Eyal their new found lives and incomes and as a result we the WIS who buy into the huge amounts of BS so that maybe ,oh maybe we might get a chance to hear our voices on a Sunday Slop watch show or get the autograph of a couple con men at a WG/GTG and finally be accepted as being cool among other like minded twits....yes I'm being sarcastic because I can not believe what I have seen over at WG where grown men act like school boys with their 1st crush holding their Manginas ever so gently just hoping and wishing that Skelton may acknowledge one of their posts or even better call him "sucker" as this is CZ Jims word for friend!....give me a break already !!! ...there will be no announcement (BS if any at all)or restitution for this POS watch and those who choose to keep it will have the POS for life if you don't send it back and get a refund.....FGS you could buy a dozen brand name watches like the Oris small seconds for the same $$$ and know you have a real Swiss watch on your wrist and not some "it could be Swiss"if the the plane leaving China had to make a crash landing in Switzerland due to a missing washer between the engine and the propeller.... and since they had to send these DD watches out they got shipped from Switzerland.... to the many loyal Invictaphiles waiting patiently to get a watch that more than likely will spend more time in Panama where Eyal has his secret Swiss Cheese factory getting repaired or lost than on your wrist! .... so line up...bend over and take it like the WG Men you are cuz that's what Eyal,CZ Jim and Mikey get off on....screwing you guys in the arse while playing Liars Poker player where no one ever wins when they play cuz the lies are so good it's always a draw and they're too cheap to get off of that 1st Dollar they took off some poor guy who walked away smiling thinking he made a friend... ....this isn't the 1st issue Invicta ever had nor the last because there will always be Invictaphiles lining up with thoughts of grandeur and that Invicta has finally changed and gone back to the game plan they had when they 1st started out...well Good Luck and maybe if all the WG/Invicta loyals hold their breath while waiting for the "announcement"we can have some peace of mind knowing you will never stir the pot on another forum again! ![]() |

I love it...Lalo grabbed some DD modules that he got somewhere else because DD would not sell directly to him...His contractor is an idiot and doesn't know how to place them in the case and/or assembled them correctly...Invicta has no quality control to check the watches before they are sold and delivered...and the "third party" (ala Corona Gordo, the "grifter") is the scapegoat because he is a Big & Dumb POS that has to constantly polish his navel so he can see where he is going.

So, am I the only one that's pretty impressed with the final outcome? Don't get me mixed up with an Invicta fanboy as I only own two, each of which were second hand. But for DD to come out and issue a public statement essentially holding hands with Invicta has got to say something about the legitimacy here. I know this subject can get pretty rowdy, so take it easy on me, OK? |

I know this subject can get pretty rowdy, so take it easy on me, OK? This is not a personal attack, but I feel you just glanced at the letter and didn't thoroughly read it...If you really read it, it is not that impressive. All DD says is that the modules are genuine and that Invicta bought them second hand (instead of properly sourcing them from the manufacturer). It also states that Invicta did a miserable job of assembling the modules in the case and inspecting them for quality before selling them to an unsuspecting public...and that both DD and Lalo take no responsibility for the loudmouthed, rantings and lies about the situation broadcast by Lalo's pet con-man...but we all know that he doesn't say anything without Lalo's consent! So...I don't know whether you are the only one who is impressed by the public statement in which DD says Lalo is and idiot and a poor manufacturer with no quality control processes or not...but I, for one, am not! And yes...I also own 3 very nice Invicta's that were manufactured years ago...but because of the name, I am now too embarrassed to wear them in public (not a snob...but don't want to be taken for a fool either)! |

I know this subject can get pretty rowdy, so take it easy on me, OK?for a price any company will release an announcement that sounds like a commitment or future partnership....this isn't the 1st time...Invicta paid in some way either with a large order or settlement that DD was happy with....this was never an issue of the watch but of the BS CZ Jim once again created before checking the facts!...he created the DD/Invicta Monster! what gets me is that Skelton once again got away with total BS....first of all claiming partnership with DD prior to the sale of this watch which was denied in a letter filed by DD and then blaming DD publicly for the problems the watch has and then claiming"oh I only sell them ,not build them"...this is classic Skelton! ....had he just kept his Big Mouth shut none of this would have even come about nor would have been necessary...a simple "waiting to hear from Invicta about a fix" would have sufficed to the blinded Invictaphiles but instead in his me,me,me CZ Jim narcissistic manner he had to blow this up to a full scale pile of BULLS**t that we are all so tired of since he was given the job of head puppet(you know ...the one with the dirty knees) by Eyal, who has got to be tired by now of having to bail his ass out of the trouble every time he inserts his foot into his mouth and needs to take a hard look at what kind of a**hole he is harboring!....CZ Jim must go and if his minions can't see how he is using them only for his own gigantic Ego than I feel sorry for them ....wake up and smell the bullS**t! fart.gif |

Ken/Oscar, I appreciate the responses. You both know way more about the brand and past issues than I do. I've never really been all that interested in the brand, so I've never followed them very closely. One thing is clear, regardless of whose fault it is, there's definitely some QC issues at Invicta. This should have never left the 'assembly line' in such quality. Too bad DD has gotten caught up in it. I just find it very strange that DD would feel so compelled to issue a response if there wasn't some sort of legitmacy. They should and could have just walked away and/or issued a formal statement that would have backed up Becker's original response. |

They should and could have just walked away and/or issued a formal statement that would have backed up Becker's original response. They had to issue a response because Lalo's loudmouthed puppet went on national TV and flatly and repeatedly stated that the problem was due to defective DD modules. I am sure that Lalo paid a pretty penny to not get sued over this and signed a joint statement exonerating DD for the same reason. All the statement says is that DD did not manufacture defective modules, that Invicta bought them from a second hand source without the knowledge of DD and then he butchered the installation of the modules because he is a POS manufacturer and then had his puppet lie about the problem and place blame on DD when they had no knowledge of what was happening...thus, your "legitimacy" of statement! |

This all goes to if this watch is even Swiss Made as it states on the dial....hard to believe that any Swiss based watch manufacturing company could screw up the assembly so bad...if these watches were assembled in Asia he has another big problem with US Customs...even if Invicta does not fall under the rules of the Swiss Federation because they are not a member (for reasons EL does not want to discuss), the US Customs import laws do follow it. If it says Swiss Made on the dial and it is not he has an issue |

issues with Invicta date back to 2000 when they were 1st introduced on Slopnbc by Tim Temple and I doubt any model they have produced has not had some sort of issue one WIS or another hasn't experienced....Invicta is a 50/50 crap shoot...some are lucky enough to get a good one others aren't and that is a sign of NO QC whatsoever followed by the worse CS known to WIS by any watch manufacturer!![]() ....now I don't really care what is printed on the dial if the price is right and if at the very least some degree of positive QC/CS is associated with the brand that WIS can rely on. ...The Swiss Federation frowns on Invicta and I heard from a well known, reliable source that in 2008 Invicta was asked to leave Basel because of a issue Zenith and some other well known Swiss companies had with Invicta being in the Hall of Dreams and not wanting Invicta anywhere near them!Invicta was asked to move to another area and when Eyal pitched a fit they asked him to leave...lock,stock and barrel! ![]() |

This is a quote ref Invicta vs Rolex. The only thing they have in common is that they are both watches. I can't imagine that anyone in recent years has paid anywhere near the retail price for an Invicta. They are fashion watches with a horrible history of customer service and quality control to match. Invictas retail pricing is there only to make people think they are getting more watch than they really are. |

I just read this and thought I would share just to stir it up more. About Eyal Lalo - Invicta Watch Business Invicta watches TV guest Eyal Lalo is a third-generation watchmaker. His grandfather taught his father, who in turn taught him everything there is to know about the watch business. Eyal’s firsthand experience in the luxury industry allowed him to recognize the areas within the watch market that were being ignored by other brands—mainly the ability to provide distinctive designs and quality craftsmanship for reasonable prices. Eyal believes you shouldn’t have to spend thousands of dollars to own a quality watch. What inspires Eyal and his team at Invicta is turning the balance of power in the watch industry back to the consumer. With each new design, Invicta has struck down the walls that once stood between the average consumer and true watch luxury. Eyal says, “I like to be known as the Robin Hood of this industry.” |

Every nations need a hero and sometimes legends born out of very little: Maybe some minstrel who was working for him like it happened many times through history. It cost $65 because of the natural increase in value (of an Invicta investment) from years ago when they used to sell for $300+/-. I believe only one model was automatic and that was the COSC model. As I recall, that was auctioned off with the proceeds going to a charity to help Hurricane Katrina victims (sort of a compensation prize for what they couldn't loot)...Hmmmmm, I wonder if Corona Gorda stole that charity money, too? Don't you guys think you are being a little hard on Invicta, their CEO and their mouthpiece simply because they are seemingly lying to, cheating and stealing from watch buyers? I mean, that is how they operate, and let's admit it...they are very successful at it!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There are more cheap replica Invictas than new model invicta’s that is a fact. Neo post in reply.... "If you crap on poo its still poo" going to bed now...this is too much fun and its not a weekend. The first time I clicked the link, I completely ignored the comments. I just went back and read all of page 4 and it's been awhile since I laughed that hard. Especially when the 'Invicta Posse' showed up...Just classic. |
