WHOA I had no idea they looked so damn similar.

That's a nice looking watch though.
What movement are they using? I can't visit the site from work because websense is blocking it.

if it had Omega on the dial instead of Helson it would be a replica....some are calling it the best homage to date ,ranting and raving over it as if it were the best thing since sliced bread....yet they are the same group of wannabees who are bashing the Magellan on a few forums because it shares the same case as the Doxa...and that is the only similarity...the case... which has been used by many watch companies over the past 40yrs.....yet it is a copy, fake, and rip-off....I think they should be called WISocrites!dog smile.gif

....regardless the Sharkmaster is what it is and I ordered one up because I like it and the chance of owning a genuine Seamaster 1000 is getting slim as they are getting over-priced imho.
.....with all homages it gives WIS who ordinarily won't spend the big bucks on a name brand an opportunity to try a watch that is very similar for much less....much like the Panny homages that everyone is so fond of...homages have been commonplace for years among enthusiasts but when do we start calling an homage a replica in sheeps clothing?....there are watch companies that do just that....take a known replica and put their name on it and charge double what the rep costs and these are the watches we need to be careful of and not these watches that are being produced by WIS for WIS in order to have the ability to own a popular design/watch without the costs associated...ThumbsUp02.gif

I believe he said his wrist size was somewhere around 7in or less....I hear many WIS ask this and wonder why your wrist size should make a difference as far as the size of the watch?....I have a 7.25-7.50in wrist as far as circumference but the space from one side of my wrist to the other is 59mm. .... more than enough wrist size(flat surface) to handle a Big watch such as the Sharkmaster that measures 54mm lug to lug as  the case sits on top of your wrist....if you have calipers measure your wrist from side to side and then find out the lug to lug size of the watch to determine if you can handle it rather than the circumference of your wrist imo.ThumbsUp02.gif

I see that... At this price, the case should be in platinum. By the way, look this one who's in much better stand:http://cgi.ebay.com/OMEGA-PLOPROF-1000M-SEAMASTER-1975-DEEP-DIVER-NOS-/370405518498?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Wristwatches&hash=item563de3aca2#ht_10791wt_1137
You should just bid at 10000 and you will certainly have it....Without the scratches and dings!

I've been asking myself the same question in fact as I earlyer saw features like that on full case watches...If I don't mistake.
My own conclusion after reflection: As the back can't be unscrewed, those watches have to be open from the front...The crystal must go off.
But then, you don't have any direct acces on the movement's back: You have to pop it off from the case.
I guess that this "dimple", is in fact a screw who free a little hole in the back case.
By looking the place where the "dimple" is, it seems to be right over the screw on the movement's bridge, who free the crown stem.
Sounds logic to me: To free the movement from the case for any services, you have the free the stem from the movement.
By poping off the "dimple", a thin screw driver could acces the stem screw and free it, making possible to pop the movement off?
My conclusion...Am I right???

Well, as soon an original comes up, they allways use the fact that it went to so high price(17000$) on this Omegamania auction, to present a 10000buks as "cheap"...
So what's next?
If a multimillionnaire who can't wait to find a better deal and don't care about the price, is ready to pay 30000 on an auction for a mint piece...Then they will all be presented at the "cheap" price of 25000???crap.gif

send Peter and e-mail as in most pre-orders there is always someone who can't pay or has changed their minds(not sure if you will get the pre-order price of $750. though)...
....I am not sure if they are sold out or if more will be made as Peter said he was going to ship all pre-orders 1st before putting them up on his site FS ...

...
you know I wasn't all excited when these 1st came up but I have to admit I'm pretty amped right now and can't wait for mine to arrive!patrick.gif

I fired off an email to him!
You know when the preorder started I think my attentions were elsewhere but I've recently become interested in the Vintage Omegas so suddenly this is a really nice idea!

there may be a delay on shipping due to Typhoon Megi nearing HK...let's hope it's not as bad as some are predicting and is moving away as reported and residents of HK and all in it's path will remain safe...

Severe Typhoon Megi is moving slowly away from Hong Kong.

It's now about 440 kilometres east-southeast of the territory. However, Hong Kong remains on high alert. The Observatory says it's unlikely the number eight storm signal will be issued today. The typhoon is heading in a northerly direction at about 10 kilometres per hour, gradually edging closer to eastern Guangdong and southern Fujian. The winds near its centre have slightly weakened.
On its present track, Megi will maintain a distance of about 400 kilometres from Hong Kong today and tomorrow.
