So...I ran across this discussion on one of the other forums, but I liked what I saw (and read from Pablo...the microbrand owner)...he seems very genuinely passionate about what he is trying to do with his first micro-brand release.  So this is not any endorsement by me of the brand or the watch.

It is sort of in the vein of the Helson Sharkmaster (a homage to the Iconic Omega 1000m) with bits of modern watchmaking thrown in...I rather like what I see in the details here, and looks like a prototype of the piece just surfaced...shamelessly shown below.

I actually like some of the subtle differences in case design, finishes, prominent beefy crown, and overall execution that I see in the prototype.  Don't know if I'm crazy about the brand and model name...as many have already pointed out, you may feel the urge to eat some crepes when talking about the brand.

...anyway...thought you guys would enjoy the eye candy and discussion of yet "another" microbrand effort.

I like the design which is much like the Helson Sharkmaster....cost is more than the Sharkmaster which sold out on pre-order at $750.and this Crepas is $849.pre-order for the first 50 and then $1249.
I like that it has a screwdown caseback opposed to the top/drop the Sharkmaster uses but I am however completely turned off by the "Swiss Mov't" abbreviated on the dial...this is a no-no...

That's a deal breaker for me too. Especially given the asking price. Why not just leave this useless information off the dial... it only cheapens the watch's overall presentation imho.

Beyond that I do like the look and styling shown here.

I love the look ove it but the Swiss Mov't and the hands looking the same as the Artego.....
The bracelet complements the design greatly and over all it is a great looking watch.

Agree with the "swiss mov't" on the dial comments all...either meet the requirements of Swiss Made (which seems to be getting very lax these days)...or leave the swiss references off the dial.

Thanks for the commentary...I think it has some interesting design elements (and like Oscar said, the screw down case back will ease servicing down the road).

Not a fan of the case at all, at 12 and 6 o'clock, too much metal, too long and the crown+guards also stick out too far out at an abrupt angle. Not for me at all. Looks odd.

I think overall it looks ok, a 7/10 for scoring. Case looks just great but I wonder where this is made....? I guess this is an ETA 2824-2 inside? It's got some similarities to the Crux line as the bezel and dial work show. Neo's right about his input, too. To me, this is like a cross between an Artego and a Crux.

The beveling/chamfering of the date window is a little crude and looks even clearly beaten by much cheaper Seikos' date windows.

I like the hands a lot, though...or maybe because I have a weakness for plongeurs. The crown guard is also distinctive with its sharp angles, like the propeller flang of a sub. I'm just guessing this is a 45x16 with 24 lugs and buckle end also at 24.

Thanks for this Chris.

Here are the DATA about this watch: Spanish company(Malaga)
As an exemple from those regions: The Portuguese company Prometheus offer higher Swiss-Made quality for the buks.

Been around and checked this Crepas(By the way, CREPAS is the Spanish name for crepesmistake.gif): For 850$, I would personally never go for it.
Look around and see what you can get for 850 buks.
I even wonder how they passed any admition to depose this propeller logo...Way too common.
However, even with the good specs, those HK dials with "Swiss Move't" (Move'it??) are just making it a cheapo in my eyes...
I would save my buks for a better Swiss or German deal.

I really do hope that this is a prototype and Pablo is listening or I may lose my reservation payment:(.

The  Swiss Move't should be removed especially if the abbreviation visually does not  look correct or appealing.  The beveling on the date window also is not clean.

One thing I always notice when using silver minute/hour hands are the "finger prints" or blemishes that show up!  I had to return watches because of these "finger prints" on silver markers.
