Why am I awake at this hour? Is it because I am working late
into the night … well that is what I am telling myself. Of
course you know, I am watching Shop NBC. Do I want to buy a
watch? I always want to buy a watch!
But I have found myself staying up till three in the morning
just to see a watch (possibly my future watch) on the television
screen. The fact that I now know the watch looks different in
real life seems irrelevant.
My wife is worried why I could not sleep. I will tell her some
thing about my back. But you know the truth; I just needed to
see that 70-millimeter yellow faced Invicta with the blue
numbers and the orange weave nylon strap. I know that I would
never wear it, but at $75 per month over “tonight’s only” four
value pays, it less than the pizza bill.
I now preview each show on the net, decide that there is nothing
for me to see. However, I will wait to see if some guy with a
meaty wrist and French cuffs along with a manufacturer’s
representative can sell me something I did not otherwise order.
It’s a good thing that I am a professional with too much
education. At work they think my incoherent sleep deprived
mumbles are just too brilliant for them to understand.
Please admit that I am in fine company doing this. Have to go …
they are showing something else I don’t want.
Be you never know when I will be diving 500 meters.
