I'm going to be making a big purchase within the next few months and I'm looking at a Doxa, Omega PO XL, Hamilton and Anonimo. Can someone tell me how the fit/finish, etc is of Anonimo? I'd like a Panny but don't want to spend that much so I know the story about Pan/Anonimo so I figure the Anonimo is the next best thing.....TIA

I have my second one on the way. I find mine really awesome, very unique looking and super well made! Case finish is top notch! Mine is also almost spot on on terms of accuracy!

Oh boy don't getnme started. First of all, Brice what are you getting? Secondly I have three now and the case work is to die for. For me the anonimo actually grabs me much more than panerai from a design standpoint.

Here's my recent one

Fit / finish is superb, design stands alone as far as I can tell(I have'nt seen another case or dial the likes) C/S is top notch I called Scott who IS Anonimo & ordered more lug bars, they carge 50.00$ for a set -NO CHARGE was my bill, & as Brice mentioned mine is spot on as far as accuracy-but I'm not a nut about that, as long it's not 5 min +/- between wearing I'm good

Well Gregger...I've definitely been bit by the Anonimo bug (although the pieces that you are considering along with the Anonimo are all winners too with Doxa, Omega PO XL, and Hamilton as well).  I don't think you are going to be too disappointed going with any of those!

The things I love about Anonimo...

- the history behind the brand (and as you know the historical connections to Panerai and Mr. Dino Zei himself who is still very involved at Anonimo today).

- the old world casework of Anonimo is out-of-this-world spectacular and is the major differentiator for me with this brand...really great stuff across the entire model line...and as William pointed out, I really see originality in the case and dial designs of Anonimo.  (No "in-house" movement development with Anonimo if that matters to you, but Anonimo does provide extra finishing and adjustment of the movements that they put in their watches and they have always been very accurate, and a step-up in winding smoothness for me when comparing it to the same movement in most other brands...just my experience).

- also enjoy the fact that Anonimo designs very classic, clean, and uncluttered models along with some very bold, wild, and in-your-face models too.

- I actually like the fact that the Anonimo brand is "under-the-radar" to Joe public (and even some 'WIS').  You will get compliments yes, but no one has any idea what is on your wrist!thumbsup.gif

Don't get me wrong...I really do drool over many of the Panerai models on a regular basis (and heck, there are so many great WIS here at 3T that are likely finding they have too many great Panerai in their collection to really give them the wrist time they deserve...I would gladly offer my wrist to give their excess PAMs some well deserved wrist time!!!happy guy.gifthumbsup.gif   The Panerai brand has obviously experienced great success, but with great success comes very high prices for both new and preowned pieces....bummer.

Here are some pics of a few :

[size=4 Gregger, you'll never go wrong with the Anonimo, any Anonimo. Like what Chris, Willam and Eric said, it's really a great watch. The case and finish are, IMHO, even more to marvel at than some PAMs. No in-house but of hey did, their price points would rise much more. And did I say anything about the leather straps? Peerless.

I just don't get to wear mine a lot because I find the 42mm size a bit on the "tiny" side but other than that, it's a pure joy to own and wear. Designs, particularly the dials, are a step higher and I'd say more "up todate" than the typical PAM. Classic is also a word to describe their design principles.

I'd never hesitate to shoot down an Anonimo.

no they are not. Some are like 43-44, but the are so chunky that they look pretty hefty on the wrist IMO

So are ALL the Anonimo's 42mm? I guess when I saw 44/45mm that was crown....

The most common case that you see from Anonimo (seen on models like the Millemetri, Polluce, D-Date, Wayfarer and others) is a 42mm case which does not include the crown/crowns.  This case wears a little larger than 42mm due to the cushion design as I'm sure you already know.

There are a number of other case sizes from Anonimo though...The Cronoscopio Mark II that Eric posted above is 43.5mm (not including crown), the Militare is 43.5mm but wears like 45-46mm IMO due to the large dial diameter and minimum bezel area.  Other pieces like the Polluce Magnum are 44mm (not including crown), the Marlin is 46.5mm (not including crown), and the Professionale line is in the 45-46mm size (not including crown).

Some of the larger pieces move to a 24mm lug width for straps too, while the more common 42mm case uses 22mm lug width straps.
