I just got a raise and have decided to celebrate a little bit with......A WATCH! Any recommendations in the up to $1500 range? Right now I am thinking: Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon, Fortis B-42, Sinn 656, Breitling Colt Auto, or Doxa Divingstar. All advice is welcome. Last edited on Thu May 11th, 2006 05:20 pm by Foster |

Cool review! Looks like it might be a bit tough to find a Divingstar. I do love a challenge. |

The Doxa Divestar is beautiful, but if I were to buy a watch in that price range at this time, I would go for the Breitling COLT GMT Automatic (.............and I'm not even a Breitling "kinda guy") :dude: |

Since I am a purveyor of Russian watches, I would be remiss if I didn't suggest this 42mm gold-plated Buran equipped with a Valjoux 7751 with sapphire crystals front and back.![]() ![]() |

That Buran has been on an off my radar screen for quite a while. What a beautiful watch. Last edited on Fri May 12th, 2006 07:39 am by Foster |

Having thrown away a lot of money collecting watches I would go for an Omega or a Rolex if you are spending that much. I would lean towards an Omega myself. You can find some really great ones in that price range. |

Ball Fireman? The Seiko Spirit watches are a bit more on the dressy side of the sport/dress category, but are less than $300 and look the biz, IMO. Check Mike Stuffler's post (IIRC) on WUS for pics..... |

I'm familiar with the Spirit, I am going to get one sooner or later. The Ball fireman is a nice watch. |
