I let you discover this sister company from H2O represented at 3T: Helberg.
This time, the watches will wear the "Swiss Made" on them dial.
There is a 3000 and 6000 meters model.
They will be available in bronze as well.
Yes, of course, you recognize the design inspiration who was as well used by G&Walter...
I must say that the bubble crystal of the 6000m is impressive. http://www.helberg.com/

This has gone to the top of my shopping list.

Since I now have 3 H2O (technically 1 Kalmar + 1 Orca with 2 cases) I think the engineering on Clemens new watches will be just as sweet.

The hemi crystal will be too much for me but will be ordering the SS with domed crystal pretty much as the Oceanictime photo so helpfully donated when they appear on the pre order scene.

Do you think a custom full case polish would be a little too "bling"?

The Megalodons full polish looked too bling to me...But it's me. Anyway, it's a scratch-magnet!

Looks ok but the case seems a bit off balance to the bezel. I can consider it though.

Yeah it was the bling factor that put me off the polished Meg in the end too Will.
I have an Orca Mono case which I am eyeing with a view to applying the Dremel and paste as well but the main thing holding me back is the thought of all that shiny metal on the wrist. That and the firm knowledge that within 20 minutes of finishing polishing it up I am going to clatter it of something very hard and end up with a bl**dy great big scratch or dent in the case!

I think that a brush or blasted finish is always best on a chunky diver.

I went for a steel: I don´t have the bronze vibe in me... But I still wonder if a bronze bezel would fit on it.homerthinks.gif

No nothing, like Oscar.
I'm guessing that we can expect some news in 2 months or so, since it's planed for this summer.
The cool thing there for those with small budgets is that the preorder price is reasonable as well as permitting a payment in 2 times.
It will feel like we get a very cheap 6000m watch this summer when we'll pay the rest before delivery

The CH1 prototypes arrived well inside our office today and over the next days and weeks a lot of images will be shown. Have a look at OceanicTime and this T3 thread for updates.

Here is a first teaser image of the new HELBERG CH1 buckle on the dark-grey leather strap of the stainless steel version:

Great! I had the Zeno "bubble" 8800 in the past and flipped it: The case was too boring...
But this one will be a keeper

[size=4 Too bad they only accept PayPal. I simply can't have the watch shipped to my PayPal-registered address. The SS would have been a no-brainer acquisition

@BIGRUSTYPIG: With direct bank transfer to our company account we could ship to every address! :-)
___

Saturday the courier delivered after many days our new studio flash equipment!

Without being a professional photographer the following image was one of the first coming out today. I hope you like what you see and probably get. The image is relatively untouched and only dust was removed. No color/contrast corrections and at least on my monitor the images shows nicely the warm, more reddish color tone of the CuSn8 bronze.

Have a look at OceanicTime on Tuesday, 03:00 AM California time, for more images to come! If you could find the OT FB LIKE button I would be glad if it gets hit! I will of course add permanently new images here, on our HELBERG internet pages and the HELBERG FB pages.

I would see a homage like a pure copy in design and sizes but the Helberg is more an upgraded version with it´s turning bezel and useful sizes.
Of course inspired but at list completely wearable.
I don´t think a homage would sell: Or it would have been done in serial long ago.

Of course buddy, agree that it is not a hommage per say, but can´t really argue that it has not taken most of it´s design from the Rolex trieste. And also agree that a exact copy/hommage would probably not sell, as the real deal wasn´t really meant to be worn as a sports watch, rather to prove that Rolex could do it deepth wise.

Anywho, nice looking watch, and look forward to see some wrist shots

Hi all!

The apparently long lug end to lug end (appearance) is interesting. I cant find this measurement on the website, only a reference to 41mm bezel and big crown. Anyone have any idea what the "fixed" dimension from lug end to lug end is, so that I can figure out if this puppy is gonna hang over my wrist and look crazy silly? I reckon any more than 52 or 53mm and my wrist couldn't handle it.

Otherwise, for a CuSn8 bronzo, this is looking good. I can imagine it would look the shizz with gold markers and handset, (IMHO) the flatter domed crystal and an appropriate 22mm strap with bronze buckle (and that is a nice skeletonized design by the way!). SS bracelet as proposed in the renderings with the bronze watch head doesn't do it for me. Maybe SS bracelet, SS bezel, bronze mid case and then that would stylistically match the SS crown?

Can anyone help me with that lug end to lug end dimension please?

Cheers all!

IanM

The most informative write up I've seen on the upcoming Helberg CH1 was at this link on OceanicTime Blog:

http://oceanictime.blogspot.com/2013/01/helberg-ch1.html

OceanicTime notes, in that link above, the length of the CH1 as being 57mm (which is pretty much as long as I will go on a timepiece...even one as wild as this one with the strong nod to the Rolex Deep Sea Special from the late 50's, and more specifically 1960). I don't care for wrist overhang at all, and 57-58mm is as long as I will go lug-to-lug.

This clearly won't be a daily wearer for me, but you've got to love the effort and you know the build quality is going to be tops.

Cheers good sir!

Thank you very much for that. I read that paragraph but missed the dimension.

That's a long 'un!

Bugger! I looked at my poor girly wrist with a ruler laid over the top and I reckon that way too much would overhang the sides of my wrist. I can see that the case design has a small curve to the wrist, but it doesn't appear to be a wrist-hugger to me. Pity - because I like the rest of the concept. Have to pass on this one, then.

Agreed on build quality. By jeez there are some good boutique manufacturers these days.

Good luck to those who pre-order and I am very much looking forward to seeing wrist shots.

The thing which is obvious Rolf, is that this model is inspired from the Rolex Deep sea special: I posted this Helberg watch topic this last 4th februar and even made a parallel with the Germano&Walter thinking that I didn´t need to name Rolex since any WIS knows this prototype...
Yes, of course, you recognize the design inspiration who was as well used by G&Walter...

And it was told in the Oceanictime announcement as well(31-01-2013)...

"Their first model, the CH1 takes its unique aesthetic from the Rolex Deep Sea Special, an experimental watch that was first designed by Rolex in the early 50s and that later evolved to become the deepest ever mechanical wristwatch with a water-resistance exceeding 10’000 meters. "

Hehehe, whooo William, hold your horses buddy, did not mean to step on anyones toes here. And yes, should of course have assumed that everyone knew the origins of the inspiration, and just replied to the thread as I read it, not knowing anything about the brand or the watch per say.

Of course we don´t deny that we looked very deeply at the RLX when designing the CH1. :-) We improved many things, like wearable dimensions (much shorter than the original design / lower), offer two different crystals, two different materials, the bronze CuSn8 is sourced by myself in Germany, first time a three gasket system is used for the case back sealing, two different case backs, .... but tried to keep the original design key points. :-)

Let me add all the new images to this thread. I´m very bad in wristshots, but hopefully the weather in Germany stays sunny at the weekend and I will do my best. :-)

Oscar, what did you get?

I opted for the diver bezel, regular sapphire crystal, closed back and then went for the optional steel bracelet. I also asked for the golden hands. This will be my first boutique watch in a long time and I am sure it will be worth it.

I'm also curious what the other 3Ters went for????

Dear Friends,

The long wait for the HELBERG CH1 is close to it´s end.

Please let me explain the current CH1 status:
- The cases, crystals and bezels will be assembled this week accordingly to your order.
- The single part, which caused the last delay, will arrive in the next week. After receiving all part shipments and a lots of customs work the assembly of all pre-order watches will start in Switzerland from Mid of November onwards.
- After completing the watch assembly the HELBERG CH1 will be shipped by the end of November with Fedex Express. The delivery itself should take about 2-3 days into nearly every country.

We apologize the delay in the delivery of the HELBERG CH1. Even though we had no direct influence on the delay, it was our fault to give too tight deadlines to you.
Therefore we decided to include a second leather strap for the HELBERG CH1 free of charge!

Have a great week!

Thanks for the update Clemens!
Things happen along projects but I'm sure that it will be worth the wait.
A nice pre-Xmass to look forward to!

Hello Friends,

I would like to update you about the actual schedule for the HELBERG CH1 delivery.

Today we got the last remaining parts, the cases and bezels, for the HELBERG CH1. All parts are perfectly processed, looking absolutely awesome and are much improved in detail against the prototype watches you saw during the last, long months. I´m sure it was worth the wait for this outstanding product and hope you will like the HELBERG CH1 same as I do.

Picture of the day: 150x HELBERG CH1 SS sorted by serial number

This is our schedule for the HELBERG CH1 delivery:
The watches will be assembled from next week onwards in Switzerland by 5 professional watch maker. The ETA 2824 movement will be individually regulated and the watch cases pressure tested after assembly. I´m planning to ship the first watches starting from 06.12.2013. Since we have several hundered orders for the HELBERG CH1 not every single watch could be shipped out first day, but all watches should have been left our company until 16.12.2013. We will use Fedex Express with a 1-3 day delivery to nearly all places in the world. We will ship every single watch separately even you have purchased two or more HELBERG CH1 to reduce the risk of loss and custom fees. Only fully paid (deposit + balance payment) HELBERG CH1 will be shipped. Our target is to ship the watches accordingly to their order income: First come - first shipped.

I have one request to you: This will be a very busy time for us! Please don´t send us requests for shipping dates, special invoice arrangements etc. Every unnecessary email we have to answer will delay the shipping process. Thank you!

We will add 04.12.2013 several nice leaher straps for the HELBERG CH1 to our online shop. To save transportation costs the HELBERG CH1 straps could be shipped together with your watch ONLY if you mention your HELBERG CH1 ORDER-ID or HELBERG CH1 INVOICE NUMBER in the notice field during checkout.

What´s next with HELBERG?
In the next week we will introduce our new and first chronograph with ETA 7750 movement: The HELBERG CH2

Main features:
- 47mm diameter
- SWISS ETA 7750 movement
- Stainless Steel 316L
- Black sapphire inlay
- Two dials:
- High glossy black dial with chromed handset
- FULLY LUMED white dial with black handset
- Integrated black leather strap

Pricing: (only valid during introduction period until 31.12.2013)
$950 / 700 Euro for outside EU customer
700 Euro + 19% VAT= 833 Euro for inside EU customer

Currently we have 15x HELBERG CH2 with black dial and 15x HELBERG CH2 with full lumed dial in stock and several HELBERG CH2 will be assembled during December.

I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all HELBERG CH1 pre-order participants. Enjoy your new watch and also the free leather strap, which will be included into your package as a small excuse for the delay.

Have a great day!

Clemens
