Interestingly enough the design was sold, not to Movado, but to Zenith which owned Movado at the time. It wasn't until 1984 that Movado (now an American watch company) was bought out by the North America Watch Corporation which, in a period of 3 short years boosted Movado sales by 1500% from $4 Million to $60 Million.
