New? Well, yes and no…

The case&hand configuration are well known from Aquadive: The exciting thing there, is the movement.

Yes, it´s picked up at OceanicTime, thanks to Lex we have first hand breaking news on Aquadive and it´s new teasers.
I didn´t see the GMT version hitting the forum collection but I hope that this special movement will soon be available.
Swiss manufacture, 35 jewels, 28800B/h and 5 days power-reserve due to it´s twin-barrel system.
Now, who makes this movement was my first question but Lex don´t tell in his article…
Looking at it, I thought Technotime movement ?
Still no price is announced.
Anybody who would know that movement from somewhere?

There´s not bunch of houses which are making such movements and that´s the twin-barrel who put me on trace in fact.
Then I recognized the rotor shape and it´s particular ball-bearing cover.
The silver balance-wheel and it´s curved bridge are as well particular.
No doubt for me, it has to be a Technotime that was customized.

Interesting stuff...gotta love the 5-day power reserve offered by the twin-barrel design.

I find the Technotime history (established in 2001), pretty interesting...they've gone from challenging the Swatch Group at inception (as essentially a startup in movement production - kuddos to them), including providing full manufacturing capabilities to produce nearly all the components necessary to build a complete movement in house. ...to relying on a subset of partner subcontractors to provide components and assembly and finishing steps (...obviously to balance/reduce costs involved with being fully vertically integrated).

They seem to work with a large number of customers (including companies claiming to produce 100% "in-house" movements according to an article in International Watch)....interesting.....homerthinks.gif

Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with any of the Technotime movements in a timepiece?

the Technotime TT738 would be the auto movement(see link) ...there are quite a few high end manufactures using Technotime base calibers, and Crepas tactico has used the manual TT718...ThumbsUp02.gif

Right Oscar, it looks like the TT738: But Aquadive had the "Côtes de Genève" made in circular mode.
The movement shown at Technotime had the "Côtes." cut across: That´s what misled me but looking closely, it seems to be the very same movement.

But what blew me out of the water is you guys and your knowledge of movements just by looking at cogs and wheels.

Thanks Patrik but also thanks to internet, a movement like this is kind of easy to track down...
