One of my favorite watches is my Pacardt with the Unitas movement. The creator also started this company. I don't see much about either of them lately. LINK: http://www.tophorloges.nl/stovard.htm Go figure! :dude:CHEEPS VOTE FOR LAITNITELATTE

Actually, there is more. Try this site: http://www.stovardjurgenson.com/ Marc at Island Watch Carries the Line. Pacardt is a story best told by IW.

I exchanged numerous emails with Ibrahim several years ago when I first bought my Pacardt. He was feuding with Zeno at the time, and with some faint similarities to another "independent" watch company (Can you say LUPAH?), he was having difficulties finding a manufacture to make his designs. He also "associated" with Maurin, a watch I would love to own if I could find one in good shape. Maurin was produced by Paul Kleindienst (Alcobra Company) at the time. The Jorgenson name had some pedigree to it (actually I think it was somehow related to his wife's family.), when he acquired the rights and thus "Stovard Jorgenson" came about. Ibrahim has a background in Industrial Design (A graduate of The University of Industrial Design/Offenbach, Germany) and was/is very adamant about what he wanted his timepieces to both look like and how they should function. He used PK Timegroup out of Miami for some early USA distribution. (Kind of makes you ponder why we have all these "watch distributors" such as SWI, PK, etc. all operating out of the same basic geography?) He made association with Helmut Sinn and the Sinn watches were something of an inspiration. Ernie Romers (WatchUSeek) managed to actually meet Ibrahim and sold his watches (some were quartz at the time), but the success did not follow for either of them apparently. He also owns Von Wangenheim, a watch rarely seen or found.(Most all were chronographs of high build quality). He considers Wangenheim to be his masterpiece, utilizing Valjouz 7750 movements, etc. Ibrahim used to be found posting on several forums using the name "Propmatic". He also disagreed with some who claimed Fortis and their Spacematic series proceeded HIS design(s). Thanks for the site. This is an interesting "international" watch creator with an interesting history and story. My Pacardt is truly a "keeper" and is a "Nine Eater" as Ken would say. Came on a beautiful Trophy strap and is excellently finished with that 6497 movement! It won't be leaving my collection until they pry it from my cold, limp wrist! (Hehehehe) Great story which gives us a glimpse of independent watch manufacturing in Europe as opposed to branding product from China, making ludicrous claims and fabricating outlandish stories of dubious pedigree and legacy. (I'm sure there are some who could identify a company with that type reputation?) :dude:CHEEPS VOTE FOR LIVNLYKEAWIS

Quite an interesting character. We've spoken numerous times over the phone, although we haven't spoken in a while. He's a bit of an eccentric; he's got great ideas. mcwright wrote: Actually, there is more. Try this site:

A designer being eccentric, say it aint so. All this time I thought it was the world that was warped and twisted, and come to find out it was me:P:D:D:D. Seriously though good learning exp.. I had herd the name for a few years, but never looked into the person or the brand. The Swiss prod. looks great.

I don't own one, but I've handled a couple, and the quality was excellent. I'm just not extremely fond of the styling; I have Romanophobia. :D I need Arabic numbers on my watches, or none at all. Dan:)
